Maybe you need to bring a few kittehs to the HQ for some entertainment! :-)

Actually, the one good thing about going there, even though it's boring, is having a few hours away from all these crazy critters. LOL!

But yeah, just a few more weeks to go. Then it's back to normal around here again. Yay for that!

It was an ok day. Nothing much went on at the HQ so the other gal and I dragged our chairs outside and enjoyed the nice weather.

Been catching up on emails and news this evening since I never turned the computer on last night. Just a wee bit behind on things. :-)

It sure doesn’t take long to get behind, for sure! Glad you had pretty weather so you COULD sit outside!

it was nearly 90 degrees here. WAY too warm for October and for someone is so ready for cooler weather! I guess I should be thanking my lucky stars we don’t have hurricanes or early blizzards!

Yep, it was nice to be able to sit outside for a change. Been too hot to do it all summer.

UGH! Way too warm for October indeed! I feel for ya. We appear to be out of the 90 degree days now but are supposed to have some mid-80s this week. Then another cool-down this weekend with highs in the upper 60s by next Monday. We’ve had some nippy nights with lows in the upper 40s.

No hurricanes there this year has been a plus. Those are NOT fun. Let’s not talk about early blizzards. We don’t want to jinx ourselves! LOL!

Sprinkles, but mostly dried up by morning, thank goodness.

I seem to get called every two years. You need a doctor’s note to get out of it, but you can opt out permanently at 70...15 months away. d:o)

Sunday night’s call was 1-187, Monday night’s was 188-244. I have to call 3 more nights, but my number is 665. I should be safe. I’ve served enough times.

Sure glad you were able to talk your way out. Sitting can be a killer for us mobility impaired.

Are y’all getting any chatter about Matthew showing up in your area? I know you’re inland but it’s SO big!

We should have a cooldown before the weekend, too, but thank goodness floods are off the table. Last year I had to cancel the recon trip to this lake because all the roads were so bad. I didn’t feel like I should try them alone. I’m brave, but not THAT brave! I’m like a cat...don’t like water!

Good that it had dried up. But it sounds like it won’t be long before y’all are slip-sliding your way to work. :-(

Last year was the first year I’d ever gotten a notice for jury duty. And it was for grand jury, which can go on for quite a while. I knew my back would never survive it so decided to try to get out of it.

No doctor’s note required. I simply mentioned a bum back from a car accident and one gal asked if I was able to sit for lengthy periods and I said, “Oh heck no! I have to get up and walk around often.” She said she’d take my name off the list permanently and I was ever so grateful. I was worried about getting in trouble if I couldn’t go through with it if/when called. Now there’s no more worry. Whew!

Yep, been Coked good that time. LOL

I was set up for two jumps and should have gone for three. Then I wouldn’t have waited and emptied the mug in the process.

If it hadn’t been for that, you MIGHT have ended up on the second page. :-)
