I hope he considered Koufax, Piazza, and Campanella when considering his favorite player. I have lots of good Dodger memories, many of which have to do with Scully especially Game 1 of the 1988 Series. However, I attended my first Dodger game at Dodger Stadium in 1999 and was a little intimidated with all of the gang bangers and thugs in attendance, especially in the parking lot. It was a stark contrast to what I had seen on TV.

Agreed.
The Giants manager wanted to pull Marichal. Marichal, who was 25 at the time, pointed to Spahn, who was still in the game, and said something like, "See that man on the mound? He is 42 years old!"
The manager was convinced and Marichal stayed.
Spanning several decades, Dodger baseball radio was part of my life.
As a kid, when I was an obsessed Little Leager, later for commute from work, later still as a long distance cyclist, etc.
I attended a few games in the Coliseum, then the year that I graduated from HS Scully called Koufax’ perfect game for instance.
For years the pair of Scully and Doggett were the best.
Thanks for the memories, Vin...enjoy your retirement.
