This attack is another reminder of the growing danger that anti-ship missiles represent—especially those that are more frequently being obtained by unpredictable non-state actors.
These "non-state actors" are in fact, state sponsored, and highly predictable.

The ship was operating for a DREDGING COMPANY.

This does sting, sure, but...who really believes that her current operational parameters were the same for when the USN had her, huh...?

US casualty..?

A little pride, maybe.

After the USS Cole was struck off of Yemen back when Bubba was Prez the Captain FORBADE distribution of live ammo.

I mean AFTER the explosion, m’kay..? No live ammo. While everyone thought they were ABOUT TO BE FINISHED OFF, no live ammo.

Know why?

Cuz the Captain wanted to PREVENT AN ACCIDENT.

And in fact some squids did say there was ANOTHER haji zodiac tooling around out there.

I might be wrong on this ship. I might have it mixed up with another. I often stray from FRee Republic, and peruse other sites primarily sites of maritime interest.

I recall reading about a vessel, an experimental vessel the Navy had decided was about as worthless as you know what on a boar pig. I think this was the vessel. I recall they were looking for some sucker to purchase it, and get them out from under the costs of it all.

Anybody out there that can verify my recollections, or advise what ship I’m actually thinking of I ask to please comment. I remember the vessel I was reading about to be similar of type to transport vehicles as a ferry.

If this is the vessel I was reading about sometime in the past, then it may have been target practice as the Navy was dumping it pricewise. I got the impression someone messed up when they ordered it built, and just wanted it gone.

The Houthi rebels are being supported by the Iranian Gen Qassem Soleimani’s Revolutionary Guard Foreign Legion, the state sponsored terrorist organization, the Shia Liberation Army (SLA)

If true, this would be a major upgrade in the Houthi terrorist's capability with modern high tech weapons with substantial long range reach.

The timing suggests that the 1.7 billion in cash and the 150 Billion from the Iranian Nuclear deal Obama gave Iran is paying big dividends in equipping their well organized world wide terror network.

The way that thing lit off makes me wonder about the survivabilty of our littoral combat ships should they take ONE missile hit.

The Houthi rebels need to be very careful about this type of attack least the Saudi led Sunni coalition will attack the Houthis.

Oh, wait ... the Saudis were already attacking them. Silly me.

>Iranian-backed Houthi rebel fighters have claimed responsibility for the attack.<

.
Missile could have been fired from somewhere in Somalia. You can actually see the lights in Somalia looking across the water from the port of Mokha at night.
