NY Slimes: Judge in 9/11 Suits Feels No Regret That None Ever Went to Trial
NY Slimes ^ | 9/6/2016 | Ben Weiser

Posted on 10/02/2016 2:09:01 AM PDT by Tours

After the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, scores of victims’ family members decided to pursue lawsuits in federal court, bypassing a dedicated compensation fund in order to seek not only millions of dollars in damages, but also answers and accountability.

Many had wanted to compel a public soul-searching, and to have the airlines and others reveal in court how their policies and actions might have allowed 19 armed hijackers to pass through airport security, board planes and carry out the attacks........

Interesting article. Judge Hellerstein stopped all domestic litigation from going to open court in regards to 9-11 and enforced “confidential” settlements.

So now the shift to suing Saudi Arabia.

I don’t understand the logic behind US tax payer dollars going to 911 families unless it was simply hush money.
Was the government aware of Saudi involvement?

IMHO, Bill Clinton owns this; lock, stock, and barrel.
Turning the investigation of the original bombing over to NYC police defies all common sense.

Let the petro dollar die. Let’s take our lumps.

I think I understand it. Allowing individual lawsuits to proceed would have eventually exposed Saudi Arabia as materially culpable - even more than Iraq - much, much more.

Were that to have occurred, Iraq wouldn’t have been invaded because of a public clamor to invade Saudi Arabia. And, certain elites in this country could not have that.

That’s my take on it.

Bush might have had prior knowledge, since he was very close (as in male-to-male face-sucking muslim sex close) with his Saudi boyfriends.

IMHO, Bill Clinton owns this; lock, stock, and barrel.

You don't think that Bush had something to do with it, considering that he let planeloads of terrorists go back to Saudi Arabia via express?

Yeah, Bush is definitely guilty of aiding and abetting the enemy - No doubt! He probably didn’t need to be told to do that from his handlers.

I’m just saying Bill Clinton should have escalated the first bombing of the WTC to the highest levels of intelligence - from the NSA to the CIA and all points in between.

Clinton turning the first bombing investigation over to a municipal police department resulted in the events of 911.

I should have added that I’m more than confident Bush didn’t have prior knowledge.
His aiding and abetting followed the events of 911.

2600+ structural engineers and architects are convinced 911 facts and evidence do not align with the Commission conclusions and NIST report.

WTC 7’s 47 story free fall collapse cannot be explained by what’s known about the affects of a fire in modern steel skyscraper buildings, ie: there has never been a case of a skyscraper collapsing due to a fire.

We won’t even get into the facts that the BBC reporter on site announced it collapsed 20 minutes before it actually did, and fire department radio communications indicate a call to: “Pull” the building.
The free fall collapse of that building onto itself behaved exactly like a controlled demolition.

Terrible day in American history, and disturbing to ponder incongruities of evidence versus official narrative.

Clinton HAD OBL in his sights three times and let him go.

I think I remember a live field report from snipers that HAD him RIGHT THERE and they were told to stand down.

Larry Silverstein, WTC lease holder says in his own words the NYFD made the decision to “Pull” WTC 7 due to concerns they could not contain the building fire.
Note, it takes weeks of preparation to execute the successful demolition collapse of a 47 story building.

But these incongruent facts are to difficult and unpleasant to ponder...

I recall similarity.
I think what’s troubling to many are recent revelations of just how very close the Bushes and Clintons are.

Is it now do unthinkable to consider 911 collusion, ie: deliberate OBL escape, drafting the Patriot Act ahead of 911 and other aspects of Sept 11 & post events.

Was the Patriot Act drafted before 911 or is that speculation?

My understanding was that the caveat preventing those from accepting the government payout (averaging $1.6 million) was designed to prevent the airlines from being sued out of business.

Exactly but too many people are afraid and irrationally emotional to talk about this.

Our country has a wife beater syndrome when it comes to September 11th, 2001.

World Trade Center #7 and the 28 pages are the obvious evidence and perhaps starting points.

Bottom line is we have a few bad apples, and we need house cleaning. After all there are not many places where you will not find some bad apples. It’s just a part of life unfortunately.

That sounds possible but you would think major carriers as such would have insurance out the @ss.

I think it was fast and quick hush money.
With the Fed’s resources I would wager they had smoking guns within hours. Hours!

Heck, just the passenger manifests would have spelled ROP involvement.

Gotta keep those petro dollars flowin’.

Even the individual businesses (tenants of the WTC) were exposed - especially those that directed employees to remain in their offices. Many who were present in the ‘93 bombing ignored such advice and lived; others heeded it and died. There was probably no end to the potential defendants in the case.

You’re “prolly” correct on that point and the litigation would still be on-going to this very day.

I do recall the feverish discussions here about using using tax dollars in this manner, post 911.

I can understand why people had issues with it; it was akin to using eminent domain to let a developer build housing on someone else’s property (instead of lengthening a runway airport or building an interstate). Taxpayer dollars were used to head off legitimate legal actions to protect specific for-profit companies/entities (while our families would receive nothing if our loved ones died in the Boston Marathon bombing, for example).
