20 minutes into the first episode I pegged the military general as the culprit. Or is that too obvious?

The bombmakers will turn out to be domestic terrorists of the conservative persuasion. Since the bomb was found and noted to be non-explosive but with components from every baddie, plus the gratuitous stop of the ME looking White House aide by police, the story is obvious.

I turned it off by the last fifteen minutes and probably won’t watch it again.

I’ve watched the first two and I’ll keep recording them ... for now.

24 was a lot of fun at times and Kiefer Sutherland is a decent actor. The “main” plot has potential and I want to see where it goes. But I can also see where this one can jump the shark rather quickly.

So far I’ve been interested in their attention to the Constitution. Such a catastrophic attack would open up a whole can of Constitutional issues that would not be easy to decide. The issue of states rights has already been breached, so the Constitution is my key to whether I watch the whole season or if this one goes the way of “Fear The Walking Dead” into digital hell.

Too bad nobody spun up a thread for “The Last Ship.” I love spending time aboard the Nathan James!

No exactly accurate. Jack Ryan had been sworn in as VP before the SOTU. He had left the Capital when the plane crashed into it.

Great plot line and enjoyed Episode 1

Then came the left turn and the “unjustified” beating of a Michigan Muslim teen did it for me.

Won’t be watching again

The X-Files revival started up with more partisan politics in its first episode than had been in the entire run, complete with a clip of Obama from some late night show. The main thing is that a right-wing conspiracy theorist contacted Mulder and Scully, and Mulder reacted negatively to something he said on his show about gun rights. Anyway, this character turned out to be sympathetic and right about the conspiracy.

Anyway, one of the episodes started with two Muslims walking into an art gallery, which blew up a few seconds later. I was watching with my arms folded, figuring for sure they were going to be innocent. They weren’t. And, Mulder was able to get information out of him that ended with a bunch of Muslim terrorists being arrested while still on their prayer rugs. I was stunned, and it ended with Mulder and Scully musing about the hate coming from the Koran.

The reaction online was of howling anger that The X-Files had become “Islamaphobic.”

It wasn’t all on our side, though. There was a muderous nurse spouting the kind of racist cliches they act like Trump stands for. And Mulder—who is agnostic to Scully’s devout Catholicism—said, “Your book is wrong, too. It said Adam and Eve would die for eating the fruit, but they lived hundreds of years.” How is that wrong? If they hadn’t eaten the fruit, they’d still be alive. Nobody said death on the spot. Anyway.

Good show.

Could do without the obligatory PC kowtowing towards Islam.

Designated Survivor: Should it be designated as Democrat propaganda?

He may look the same, but this wuss is definitely NOT Jack Bauer and already way too "touchy feeley" and lib for my tastes.

Also, Sutherland is a canadian, and his TV wife, Natasha McElone is British, I keep thinking "Aren't there any AMERICANS left that could fill these roles?".

...this was a trope of the Left, convenient as it fit into their worldview but an outright lie.

Of course it fit into their worldview because most all the rest of it is lies as well.

I watched two episodes and that’s enough for me. The republican governor of Michigan was painted as someone who sicked the state police on ALL muslims.

The problem is that the propaganda is full of cliches.

this makes the show boring.

As I posted on another thread, I was very disappointed with the cartoonish “Muslim oppression” storyline in the last episode. It’s wasn’t even realistically done, terrible writing, truly pathetic. I haven’t bailed yet cause I love the concept and I like Sutherland as actor but more garbage like that and I’ll have to. There’s another show I watch that’s on at the same time, Chicago PD.

Right so let’s talk about a DIFFERENT show, I’ve never watched a full episode of “Madame Secretary” but I watch “Elementary” which comes after it and football runs late so the start of Elementary is often delayed so I’ve seen a little.

So I ended up watching a good half of a Madame Secretary ep. I was under the assumption it was a rat administration. It’s not, like that “Scandal” nonsense it’s a RINO administration. Tia leoni’s SOS is a non-partisan type serving a RINO President. She is asked about global warming in an interview and goes lib. The Prez’s COS is poed at her cause she’s gonna be named the running mate for term 2 and she doesn’t get why it’s a big deal (huh?) “it was a personal question” (whut?). Then the President goes lib on global warming too. He’s facing a primary challenge from the right BTW.

And “2 months later” he loses decisively in some critical primary and it’s curtains. Maybe you should have went lib on a major issue AFTER getting the nomination, numbnuts. At least they mentioned Franklin Pierce as the first and last elected President to seek and not got renomination.

What bothers me so much is not that this show is liberal-slanted, I know they all are, I’d be shocked if they weren’t. But the poor writing and total lack of realism was atrocious in “MS”. And this fixation with liberal Republicans (as if to chide us actual Republicans) is bizarre. I’d honesty rather watch a rat administration.

I knew at once new that President RINO and Tea Leoni would run as Indies, but they didn’t. MORGAN Freeman who I guess was the Lib Chief Justice runs into Tea (somewhere, the SC and the State Department don’t share a cafeteria to my knowledge) and says too bad they lost, he’d vote for them wink wink even though he’s a filthy rat. The wheels start turning in Tea’s head even though THIS NOTION SHOULD HAVE OCCURRED TO HER, THE PRESIDENT, AND EVERYONE ELSE EVEN LONG BEFORE HE LOST. Creating false dramatic tension (or whatever) at the expense of even remotely resembling reality. She looked surprised that a lib said he liked her and her RINO boss, even considering that’s she not a politician and must be clueless about a lot of stuff, that’s was weird.

The Republican nominee, the Governor of PA is presented as evil for being conservative and wanting to keep a military base in Bahrain instead of moving it to Tunisa which is pretty far from Bahrain so I don’t how they could serve the same purpose, at least they didn’t make up fake countries like some shows do. The rat seems to be a Berner “isolationist” who wants to dismantle the military, so Tea hates them both, she and the RINO have some grand foreign policy vision that is probably nonsensical and Wilsonian Neocon with a social justice twist if it makes any sense at all (just a guess, I’ll never watch this show again). The show is about a Sec of State but aren’t there any domestic issues at play? Do voters care about a military base in Tunisa?

The President is gonna be a good boy and endorse the Governor, but Tea runs into him and they argue about Bahrain and Tunisa and he says he will undo the deal when he takes over, and then asks her to say on as SOS (W.T.F.), so she runs back into the Oval office and tells the President lets run as independents!!! What a shocker. The President is flabbergasted. She could have squatted down and went #1 on the floor and he’d have the same look on his face. Was “Benson” like that?

The COS goes to Tea’s house, he’s upset he has to choose between his President and his party (”it’s not the same party you supported since middle school” says Tea, up yours Tea). He’s run the numbers in his bat computer and there is only one way to win. I immediately guess it’s put someone else on as VP.

Yup, 3 person meeting because it’s not like you’d have a big team running this scheme. COS tells the President that indies love him so he’ll win the swing states like FL and VA (that’s not how that works writers!!!! Good lord) but the GOP nominee is the Governor of PA and sure to win his home state and get to 270 (poor berner seems to be boned)

So they gotta go with a female RINO Senator from PA. Arlen Specter with teats, I wonder if she’s hot. Tea loves her. The most realastic part of all this how certain they are that she’ll jump at the chance to betray her party and her own Governor.

They’d have a “very good chance” of winning in the House. Yeah sure, even if rats are badly divided and half of them hate the Berner, you need 26 delegations, I’d wager for a deadlock and the VP-elect chosen by the Senate maybe getting to be Acting President for a while.

When comedy like “VEEP” is actually only slightly worse in terms of a realistic political environment (and maybe a little better in some ways), damn. Who writes this? Don’t you have any writers who are capable of making something realistic that’s still compelling television? Consultants? I don’t expect a documentary but give me a break.

This crap is as bad as that Geena Davis show they had back when Hillary ran the first time. She was a indie chosen to be VP by a Republican, the VP is a spare tire and he chose one with a nail in it, he was asking for that stroke. She considered resigning and letting the Republican (and former racist dixiecrat) Speaker played by DONALD SUTHERLAND take over but he talks mean to her so she decides to take the Presidency. Ok now that I mention it that was the worst crap I ever saw, it made the “West Wing” (which I actually watched) look like Shakespeare (and a mushroom addict lib wrote that show) I quit after a couple episodes.

I feel stupid wasting time writing this, you guys haven’t watched this garbage and don’t care but I thought I’d let you know how farcical it is.
