“Texas Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn have warned that transfer of U.S. control of ICANN will give China, Russia and Iran, whose governments censor websites and online commentary critical of their policies, more control over the internet.”
Iran, and Saudi Arabia, and other entities who believe, in the words of Barack Obama (who has initiated this transfer), that “the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”
But “New America is a Washington, D.C. think tank. Its fellow Danielle Kehl wrote in a New York Times column this week that the U.S. government’s ceding of power will actually bolster internet freedom by bringing businesses and civil society groups to the table.” New America is funded by George Soros, who has never shown himself to be a friend of the freedom of speech or free society.
So this could be it, friends. I’ve been updating Jihad Watch day in and day out since October 2003, and if the Internet passes into the hands of those who are committed to destroying the freedom of speech (and there are many of those, and they are powerful; I’m just finishing up my next book, The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Free Speech (and Its Enemies), which tells the whole appalling story), before too long I could have quite a bit of time on my hands.
The thing is, if we lose the Internet as a platform for the truth amid the mainstream media lies and distortions, it will be a terrific blow, but the struggle for freedom will not be over. We will find other platforms, we will organize in different ways. The political and media elites are increasingly fearful of losing their grip, and are becoming increasingly authoritarian as a result. They may succeed in driving us underground. They will never succeed in silencing us.
You expect the congress to actually do something to protect the interests of the people who elected them? By now it should be pretty apparent that they are not the least bit interested in serving us. They only serve themselves.
It's a yuge problem, but it's no mistake. The Uniparty (GOPe + Dem Marxists) know exactly what they're doing. Statists on both sides of the aisle want all dissent stifled. They're secretly and enthusiastically cheering this on while either remaining quiet or making half-hearted noises in protest for public consumption.
Obama is an enemy to this nation. Unfortunately, I believe we will all pay a great price.

True. But what's even more alarming is the concession from Congress to allow him to totally destroy us as a matter of unfettered carte blanche privilege. That makes THEM accessories to the crime of Treason.

Well it was nice knowing you Internet and free speech . Tomorrow if the Texas lawsuit doesn’t stop Him Obama will give away control of the Internet to the Muslim (57 Muslim countries) controlled UN. Most countries in the world don’t hold our values of free speech. We the USA controlled the Internet now Obama wants to give it to the UN before Trump gets elected or to fix the election.
Google , facebook etc already censor. You think after 57, 57 Muslim countries put pressure on Google they won’t censor? think again

Sooner or later the 57 Muslim countries are going to take over free speech on the Internet.
Just one way they could do it is threaten search engines like google to put any website like frreerepublic etc that criticize Islam on a blacklist so that no one will be able to find any website that doesn’t conform to the koran (eventually). they could threaten to take away their domain name ,ip address etc.
This is just one way I one little guy can see they can do it. 57 Muslim countries have a lot of money (Saudi etc..) and engineers . I’m sure they will do this and more.
If this happens and Texas lawsuit or Trump doesn’t stop it free speech , freedom , the Internet are over. Islam will dominate the world.
Sure you can create rogue Internets etc. but that takes a lot of money ,expertise and trouble. Google and search engines is what most 99% of people want is convenience and we are busy working don’t have countless hours to devote to some rouge internet. 99% of speech wiil be controlled by dictatorships and Islam. Muslims will not tolerate any criticism of Islam and they are not beyond threatening search engines.. if your site ever criticizes Islam it will be invisible to 99% of search engines . Islam is a cult.
Most of the countries in the world are dictatorships and 57 are Islamic . we would just be 1 out of 200. 57 act as block controlled by Islam. if this happens eventually we are done

“Trusting authoritarian regimes to ensure the continued freedom of the internet is lunacy,” Attorney General Paxton said in a statement. “The president does not have the authority to simply give away America’s pioneering role in ensuring that the internet remains a place where free expression can flourish.”
In the lawsuit, Paxton offers up a few hypothetical scenarios that could go down if the judge doesn’t grant this injunction and United States oversight of ICANN ceases. For one, he proposes, what if ICANN simply does away with the .gov domain name, and states are left to use the basic .com domain, removing citizens’ trust in the webpage? Worse, he says, how can we be sure that advisers on the ICANN board who come from authoritative regimes will not invoke prior restraint, a form of censorship that could threaten Americans’ ability to say whatever they please on Internet forums?
Paxton asserts that if the feds are insistent on allowing the contract to expire, then they need to first ensure that limits are in place that would not allow ICANN to breach any First Amendment rights.
Or more bluntly, Soros is providing “walk around” money as my grandfather termed it. In 1925, the local politicos would hand out money to those who’d take a bribe. It was called walking around money.
