Never did the prim and proper Eleanor Roosevelt imagine that her role as First Lady of the United States would lead her into the arms of one of the great loves of her life someone other than her husband, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
The object of her affection was Lorena 'Hick' Hickok, ace reporter assigned to cover the new First Lady for the Associated Press. It was a position that dictated the ladies become close companions but no one anticipated just how close.
