Party Loyalty Cant Make Me Vote for Clinton
A lifelong Democrat, Im backing Trump because he can shake up our politics and revive the economy.
Andrew Stein
I have been steeped in the Democratic Party all my life. My father, Jerry, was a New York City Democratic chairman and power broker, and I grew up in and around the Democratic Party. When I was a young man, former senators and Democratic presidential and vice-presidential nominees Hubert Humphrey and Estes Kefauver stayed at my apartment and we would proudly discuss the great traditions of the Democratic Party.
My father was a pallbearer at St. Patricks for Bobby Kennedys funeral. When I was young, Robert F. Kennedy and John F. Kennedy were (and remain) my political heroes. Four years ago, former New York Gov. and liberal lion Mario Cuomo spoke at my fathers funeral. I think his son, current Gov. Andrew Cuomo, is a very effective leader.
I was elected five times to the New York state Assembly as a Democrat. In 1977, I beat David Dinkins and Robert Wagner Jr. in the election for borough president of Manhattan, and then was elected twice as City Council president.
With this background it is very hard for me not to support the Democratic nominee for president this year. But I believe my party has become the party of the elites and moneyed class and has deserted its historic mission as the party of the working class and disadvantaged.
Given my level of discomfort with the current leftist orientation of the Democratic Party, I am now supporting Republican nominee Donald Trump for president. I urge my fellow Democrats to vote for Mr. Trump. I have known him since the early 1970s and have seen his deep concern for people, and how effective he ..

Be sure to check your wallet if you ever meet this guy.
And Hussein Obama, the big ears ARE RACIST you Muslim pig
Yikes - hope he has mob ties for protection ...
A guy with his background most certainly does.
For some reason, Andrew Stein reminds me of Don Barzini in “The Godfather”.
Welcome to the party, pal.
I’m holding it right now!
The Democrats have never been the party of the working class and disadvantaged.
They have claimed to be so, but only to buy their votes. They used those votes only to maintain their power and privilege.
I'm not suggesting the GOPe is any better. They are just a competing set of people, with the same goal: maintain their power and privilege.
I'm hoping that Trump can, and will shake up this power structure. It's ironic that a billionaire has become the champion of the working class.
Of course, he may screw it up royally or not live up to all of his promises. But, I know that even on his worst day, Trump will be a better choice than Hillary Clinton.
“I wouldn’t vote for Hillary Clinton if SHE paid me”...Nigel....
This is probably the last (NYC) Democrat I would ever expect to support Trump and I know quite a few of them, many personally.
Ted Danson?
Trump is not a democrat or a republican as both parties today sadly are virtually indistinguishable. He is running on the party that must win as democrats are beyond salvage as they went full blown socialist like the nazi party.
He is extremely smart, a businessman and a nut- cutter.
I hope he wins as that will stave the collapse off hopefully for several more years.
If he loses, then it doesn’t matter anymore as nothing is left worth salvaging and the great experiment as Benjamin Franklin said is finished forever.
I’m not counting on Trump “fixing” anything, quite the contrary: I’m counting on him taking a Buford Pusser type piece of Oak and BREAKING everything in Washington.....
He looks like an extra from The Godfather.
This is devastating to the harpy bloodletter.
Welcome aboard, Andrew!
Well, the GOP would not be where it is if they would have welcomed Conservatives having some balls like the movie Corleones.
Unlike the GOPe that shake in fear of Obama and the Democrats.
Obama in '08: "If Our Opponents Bring Knife to a Fight, 'We Bring a Gun'
Obama in ‘08: “If Our Opponents Bring Knife to a Fight, ‘We Bring a Gun’
And Trump is already there with a missile launcher.
