Anyone who bucked the system would have been bounced from the investigation and blackballed for the rest of their careers. The silence out of the FBI - from the rank and file - speaks volumes, they were playing for keeps at the top and anyone with the temerity to question it would have been out of the FBI immediately or silenced in an even more permanent manner.

Of course the investigation was a sham.
Can you imagine how many high ranking people would be indicted along with Hillary! if the FBI actually pursued this investigation or the DoJ decided to prosecute it? The discovery process would be disastrous to the Federal Government, esp. the State Department, and to the Democrats.
