Hillary Clinton’s former chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, and two other staff members were granted immunity deals in exchange for their cooperation in the now-closed FBI investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state, says a Republican congressman.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, told The Associated Press on Friday that Mills gave federal investigators access to her laptop on the condition that what they found couldn’t be used against her. […]

“No wonder they couldn’t prosecute a case,” said Chaffetz, R-Utah. “They were handing out immunity deals like candy.” …

How many got immunity in this case, about 5 or 6? Including the staffer who set up the Hag’s server. Banana republic, here we are.

It’s looking like tee-ball where at the end of the season everyone gets a trophy.

Look, If we didn’t make all these Immunity deals, we never could have covered up the Real Incriminating Evidence.

Does this mean they can’t plead “the 5th”?

Bring em all before the committee, bind and gag Cummings.

If trump is victorious, can his AG/FBI chiefs revoke it?

They’re handing out immunities like it was candy. There won’t be anyone else to indict other than Hillary. And, you know they will never indict her. Not with Lynch. It looks like James Comey has done an end run around the Republicans.

Nope; the left-wing GOP-e handed him the opening. They were ecstatic about confirming him.

Let me get this straight. Mills was interviewed before Hillary. At that time she was given immunity - which you only give to co-conspirators.

Then when Hillary was interviewed, Mills was allowed to appear with her, as her counsel?

So apparently, they didn’t even feel the need to pretend to do a serious investigation. And, as always, congress seems to have missed that little point.

What does this even mean any more? Is it the same as getting a “Get out of jail free” card while playing Monopoly?

DoJ issues immunity and I’m guessing once given, it cannot be revoked unless the terms under which it was granted are violated by the beneficiary.

The object of this “investigation” was to protect Hillary and her inner circle from criminal prosecution.

The fact the FBI did not take. Into account Mills History of Documentation destruction when she was Bill Clinton’s attorney in the commerce dept, scandal in the nineties is outrageous! This woman is the destructor for Bill and Hillary.
Mills and Samuelson were both caught in a basement office by deputy assistant Secretary of state destroying documents on a Sunday morning,The black gentlemen walked in on the session and talked to the staffers who he was senior to and asked what was going on,he was told they are going through documents to find those that might be damaging to the seventh floor on Benghazi, that indicated Hillary’s office.
He said isn’t that illegal, they replied we have our orders.

You can always plead the fifth...

Immunity or not, they can't make you incriminate yourself...

After the way Scooter Libby was treated, if I was a government employee, I'd plead the fifth if they asked me anything....

Immunity or not, they can't make you incriminate yourself...

Well, if you can't be prosecuted (via immunity) how can you possibly "expose yourself to prosecution"?

Also, since they are not looking to punish these "witnesses" but rather extract additional information about them to implicate "her"...it appears they can be forced to answer such questions.

Who's looking to prosecute "them"?

And, finally, since a Congressional committee is an extension of "We the People" and is neither an actual court of law (the US court system being a vestigial entity based on the British system where the "court" represented the monarchy) nor a police agency which also represents the court....I'm not even sure how they can even twist the use of the 5th Amendment to apply to questioning members of the "People's House".

When the Constitution does, in fact, refer to functions of Congress, it explicitly states words such as "Congress shall pass no law...etc." What is the answer to that?

Scooter Libby testified before a Grand Jury, and was prosecuted by a court.
