“Ultimately, the next revolution will likely stem from daily interactions on computer monitors with foreigners whom we can see are intelligent, decent people – people who happen, through no choice of their own, to be living in poverty.”

No amount of failure of the progressive / communist philosophy will cause these people to relent. China, Russia, Cuba and even Venezuela are successes in their minds. And the evils of free enterprise in nations like the US are to blame for the slight glitches these nations have experienced, such as poverty, starvation, and millions dead. Or these things are just part of the struggle required to reach utopia. But utopia never comes. If they could ever get the whole world converted, they would blame Mars or Venus for their failure to make communism work.

God divided the nations, supernaturally at Babel. He divided the languages. Language is a barrier to integration.

Most governments of the world are extremely corrupt. Bribery is required in many places to get anything done. Often it is looked at as the means of income for various government jobs such as judgeships or customs. Police require bribes. It has nothing to do with compliance with the law, except maybe in relation to how big the bribe must be.

The solution to poverty is to allow people to partake of the fruits of their own labors. That is, protect property rights, implement limited government, do not allow two or more sets of laws to govern the rich and elite versus the poor, and allow financial competition on a level playing field. The poor will prosper.

Wealth is created through work, ingenuity, and the conversion of natural resources into energy (to produce more work). When work is de-incentivized, intellectual property is reserved only for the elite and rich, and natural resources are restricted and confiscated, it causes poverty. Other things destroy wealth also, such as war, disease, waste, and natural disasters. But wealth can only be created by these three things.

God will not allow the end of statehood. Attempts to achieve a complete one-world government will fail. The extent God will allow it is the implementation of a global financial market and a requirement of taking the “mark of the beast” in order to participate. Many of us will never go along with this system, and will prefer death over being turned into merchandise in the global economy.

Overthrowing the Nation State will require more than WWII.

Essentially, it would require all Governments against Most People.

The bloodbath would probably total Billions dead.

So is the author calling for the establishment of a world-wide caliphate? Because it seems to me that pretty well describes this new state of a stateless world. And if that’s not what the author means, has he considered now Muslims will react to the idea of a stateless, secular world based on Western principles of freedom and equality?

We've heard it all before. Marx in particular was convinced that nationalism would dissolve in the face of true class consciousness; that is, workers from one country would identify more as their common economic class than as their nationality. It failed signally during the Russian revolution and its aftermath. "False class consciousness" was blamed and the objective of the communists became a matter of education of those classes away from nationalism and toward class solidarity. That has failed signally as well.

What we're reading here is another academic victory of theory over experience. The notion that communications in the form of the Internet are going to bring a sort of universal class consciousness is a work of the imagination along those same lines. We have twenty years of experience in the matter and no evidence whatever of this happening, and like the followers of Marx, the globalism enthusiasts are drawing the conclusion that if it doesn't happen naturally it will need to be forced...somehow.

If this is starting to sound a little like Einstein's definition of insanity, it should.

You hit the nail on the head IMHO. This is election will decide the fate of the United States as a distinct entity.

In a few years, Social Justice Warriors will be shrieking about "First World Privilege" rather than "White Privilege" on campuses across the country. |

Already happening in Seattle. Different terms, same meanings.

UN Agenda 21 PING!

Article and many great comments!

It will focus on the injustice that follows from the fact that, entirely by chance, some are born in poor countries and others in rich countries.

Reeking of agenda 21 social injustice.

Thanks, MarMema

You are crazy. The south tried to break away from central governmental control and return to the original republican principles of the Constitution.
