I hear they looted a Wal-Mart. If true, Wal-Mart should shutter all Wal-Mart stores for a year in cities that allow their stores to be violated. Close it for an extended safety study. Don’t pass along the cost of damaged stores to all other Wal-Mart stores across the country.

Why would Wal-Mart do this? They'd lose more money in one day than they lost as a result of the riots. Plus, Wal-Mart makes billions off of EBT card purchases - they aren't going to do anything to jeopardize that. Wal-mart is firmly in Obama's corner.

“Don’t pass along the cost of damaged stores to all other Wal-Mart stores across the country.”..

As I recall, Wal-Mart has endorsed Clinton. Hmmmmmm? For those who frequent their stores, “to boycott or not”, that is the question.

Yeah. Wal-mart has as many stores as most companies have employees. There was a case in Canada where the workers tried to unionize and they were getting government support. So wal-mart “fired” (my word) the store.

This is what they should do here.

On a side note, I used to have an acquaintence that had “off price” grocery stores in the pacific northwest and alaska. He had to close one in a central District neighborhood of Seattle because of all the vandalism and shoplifting. This is why those areas are “food deserts”.

Also, prices are higher in poor neighborhoods to compensate for all the “special challenges” doing business in those neighborhoods brings.

In most of the country Walmart sells firearms. How many are in rioters’ possession now?

Stores already do that. They just state, after a cursory investigation that the looted store is “no longer economically viable” and close it. That’s why until recently the city of Detroit had exactly zero national-chain supermarkets in the whole city.
