The teacher who desecrated the American flag inside a North Carolina classroom told me he has no regrets and wants the student who photographed him to be punished.
Lee Francis, a first year history teacher at Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville, has been placed on administrative leave while the school district investigates the incident.

As a retired teacher and administrator, I would fire him. I don’t know the back east but in Arizona I could pretty much let a first year teacher go pretty easy.

It’s a micro-agression that offended some of the students. What if the teacher stomped on a Koran or a replica of the AIDS Quilt?

Why the student was exercising his or her First amendment rights
Fire that SOB and place a personal note in his file that he no longer holds the capacity to teach impartially due to his bias and prejudicial against non-black students.

Why should these particular students be punished for desecrating their teacher?

“I believe that child does need to be punished in some way – absolutely,” he said. “I can’t take a picture of them and in turn they cannot do the same of me.”
Pretty twisted deflection of the indefensible. More than just a look-a-like.
So, if there were no Pictures and the Student reported his Behavior to School Administration, would the Teacher admit he did it?
Why do I think he wouldn’t admit to it. It’s kind of a stained Blue Dress scenario.

I’m curious, don’t the Parents of Children exposed to this kind of Idiocy get involved? If my Kid came home with a story like this, I would be in the Principal’s Office the next morning looking for blood.
