Iowa Absentee Ballot Requests (9/17/12 vs 9/20/16); Dems underperforming and GOP overperforming
Iowa SOS ^ | 9/20/16 | me

Slight background. Dems in IA always vote much higher absentee compared to GOP. This has gone on for several elections now. GOP always makes up for it on election day at least in 2004 not 2008/2012. Off topic but FL, for some reason, this pattern is reversed. So here on the first day of absentee ballot requests of 2016 compared to the first day of absentee ballot requests in 2012:

9/17/12: D-92,850; R-13,635; I-28,091 9/20/16: D-43,443; R-15,272; I-16,360

Trending well in Iowa but again caution very early. Huge Dem drop-off compared to 2012 and significant I drop-off also. Mild GOP increase also noted. Apples to apples comparison. 75,000 ballot requests which is about 5% of my projected turnout of 1.5 million.

BE CAREFUL!

I have seen dims apply for absentee ballots by impersonating pubbies. They then cast a ballot in the other person’s name.

My advice to all is to vote as soon as you possibly can.

I will be in line on the first day of early voting!

If you had already voted and someone tried to vote absentee for your name later would the elections office know it?

They don’t need cemeteries. They just need to bribe sufficiently a few IT administrators at strategically chosen voting machine hubs- the servers that the voting machines at the polling places in a county or other area all feed their data to.

-—Don’t know how it works in Iowa but here in SC if you request an Absentee Ballot it’s noted on the voter roll and you can’t vote in person. Friend of mine requested a Ballot as she thought she’d be out of town last election and didn’t send in ballot thinking she could still vote, but was turned away because it showed up she had requested a ballot.

‘Slight background. Dems in IA always vote much higher absentee compared to GOP.’

That is because the dead find it difficult to show up at the polls in person. Much easier to have the forms sent to the local graveyard where a Democrat surrogate can fill it out.

That is an obvious way to corrupt.

Democrats could request absentee ballots for registered voters with GOP reg. Then never send them in.

Those folks showing up to vote would be turned away.

“I will be in line on the first day of early voting!”

I will vote absentee also, but frankly I don’t think it should be allowed within the US. Except for citizens outside the country and the military, voting should be done physically at the precinct of record, on election day, WITH ID. At it is, it presents a great opportunity for fraud. Also, with the registration of the person voting early being made available to the media, it can and is used for campaign propaganda to discourage the vote of one side or another. On this first day of early voting, I can see certain media implying that Hillary has a commanding lead in Iowa and thus the election. This method of vote suppression should not be allowed.

Here in my “Banana Republic” voting is much stricter, with less opportunity to cheat, as I have posted two or three times in the past. I wish the US would implement such a system.

Absentee ballots mailed to address on record of voter so I don’t see this happening.

Lota of NY, NJ, And Mass residents vote in both their home state and Florida where they have dual residences. The snowbirds request Florida ballots and vote absentee and then do not vote in their home state so it does not appear as dual votes. THey know Mass. NJ and Mass (RI) as well will go Dem so it is more stage tic to vote in Florida.

When I have been an Election Judge, the Voter Roll is annotated to show who requested an Absentee Ballot. If they show up in person to vote, they have to vote Provisional. If the Absentee Ballot shows up as VOTED, then the Provisional can be thrown out! So, it is possible for a scam artist to cast your ballot for you.

This is why it is vitally important for everyone to vote as soon as Early Voting begins. And drag everyone you can find with you.

The GOTV has to be MASSIVE to beat the fraud machine this time. I guarantee the dims will go all out. The Left is terrified of losing power. Imagine Trump and his captains going around the fedgov telling people, “You’re fired!”

I moved to Texas in 2014 and this will be my first election here. We are registered but I have no idea where we vote at. I went to the County Elections online and you can not vote by mail here unless you meet certain criteria which I don’t.

There was a list of all the places where I can vote here and early too. One of the places listed was a mattress store.

My old voting place in California was just down the street from me here it is a bit of a puzzle but have no fear I will be voting.

“Don’t know how it works in Iowa but here in SC if you request an Absentee Ballot it’s noted on the voter roll and you can’t vote in person”

So, when there are massive voter registration drives by groups other than the registrar, and the people registering the voters keep the forms (to be turned in later by the group), whats to keep the group from changing the address on the form before turning it in to the registrar?

Copies of the forms with signatures and newly adjusted addresses could be retained by those running the voter registration drive. Then absentee ballots could be requested with the changed address. It could be one central address or PO box.

Wow! No ID is required, just a copied signature to request an absentee ballot and vote.

Those individuals who had to be pursued to be registered, are in most cases not going to vote anyway. So the group votes for them. After all in the Democrat mindset, they know what's good for everyone, and know how the person would vote anyway. That way there is a vote registered for that registered voter.

If by chance, the voter actually shows up to vote in person, they are denied a ballot, because an absentee ballot has already been received.

The official’s hands are probably tied, even if a photo id with correct address is submitted by the voter. The registration form is considered the most accurate.

Not in my county. Daughter at college requested an Absentee ballot be sent to her out of state address.
