Inspired by Colin Kaepernick’s ongoing protest of the national anthem, every player of San Francisco’s Mission High School’s varsity football team, save one, failed to stand for the playing of “The Star Spangled Banner” on Friday night.
One player with a family member serving in the armed forces stood with a clenched, raised fist during the song.
Mission High won publicity with the stunt. But San Mateo High School won the game 28-25.

I told them that because of the disrespect shown to the flag and anthem, which in my opinion is also ‘dissing’ the fans—I no longer watch ‘thugball’ formerly known as football.
When the Brits lost from NY they exported all who were loyal to the king. We should do the same now. Not loyal to the country i e you despise it out you go. Happier in Kenya or Somalia or Guatemala good bye and don’t come back.
Run for the border. Anyone who doesn’t respect the flag and country doesn’t need to be here. There’s the door, don’t let it hit you in the backside. Kenya awaits.
Mission HS is 48% Hispanic vs. 9% white. Of course, ICE is nowhere to be found.
And the disrespect just drops lower and lower....pull their state funding and hit their local sponsors. All HS and Pee Wee teams have local sponsors. Call your state legislators and demand state funding be pulled, pull your child from the sport. Don’t attend games. Counter protest out side of schools if possible.
You can’t go after the big ones like FedX or Nike, but you sure can hit a local sponsor.
