Donald Trump now has an 8 point lead over Hillary Clinton in the battle for Iowa's electoral votes, according to the Monmouth University Poll . He held a slimmer 2 point edge in July. In the race for U.S. Senate, incumbent Chuck Grassley maintains a double digit advantage over Democratic challenger Patty Judge.
Among Iowa voters likely to participate in November's presidential election, 45% currently support Trump and 37% back Clinton. Another 8% intend to vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson, 2% say they will support Green Party candidate Jill Stein, 2% say they will vote for another candidate, and 6% are undecided. Trump's current standing is similar to his 44% share two months ago, but Clinton has lost support since July when she had a 42% vote share.

holy moly.
obama won Iowa by like six.
this is a HUGE swing!
numbers are moving at 538 finally.
Odds are about to flip to Trump, all he needs is a good poll or two out of New Hampshire to take the lead.
I have determined that the online tracking polls are a leading indicator.
Hillary is imploding everywhere.
Is it me, or does anyone else think there is going to be something monstrous happening the next 4 weeks or so? Like Hillary collapsing in a debate, a major wikileaks smoking gun that can be obfuscated with complicated excuses or media cover, or a disastrous open mic moment of the level of her using the “N” word or calling someone a dirty Jew.
Well, more is likely coming from Wikileaks. I am not as confident of easy debate wins for Trump, at least in terms of perception. I can easily imagine a scenario where she is medicated up nicely and turns in passable performances, allowing the press to collectively shout COMEBACK!
Bu...but, Hillary climbed the stairs today!!
Pay no attention to the polls. She’s powering through!
I thought the media would jump on Trump by now for victims he did business with. I guess it’s too early or there are none.
I believe Romney did win Iowa but this is great. The biggie today was our lead in Virginia. If that holds— She is in huge doo doo and Colorado. !! wow.
No. Romney and McCain both lost Iowa handily. Bush in 2004 won IA barely.
MODERATOR: "Mr Trump, Mrs Clinton brought a minister to stand by
to give her the last rites should she expire during the debate. Do you mind?"
TRUMP: "I have no problem with that as long as its not an illegal or a Muslim."
You are correct. I looked at the wrong graph. 52% to 46%!! Wow , what a shift. We may have seen that coming with Joni.
“I thought the media would jump on Trump by now for victims he did business with. I guess its too early or there are none.”
I’ve seen liberals here and there trying to build such a case, but it’s all just baseless accusation and rumor. We know that because none of it has gained the slightest bit of traction.
