Hillary Clinton's health problems - and, in particular, the shocking video of her being helped into a van on Sunday - are the worst developments yet for a campaign that has hit a serious rough patch.

Democrats aren't in full-on panic mode just yet, but they are worried that a race that had looked comfortable only a few weeks ago is now seriously competitive. And they expect to be on edge for much of the next week, until the first polls appear indicating how Clinton's battle with pneumonia is affecting the contest.
The incident seems sure to further antagonize the media as well, because Clinton aides had derided reporters who raised her health as an issue, and the campaign was less than transparent about Sunday’s events.
The video of Clinton in a state of near-collapse on Sunday was "terrible," Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf acknowledged.
"The idea of her appearing to be out of physical control reinforces Trump's argument about her capacity and it reinforces the question of whether she is hiding something," Sheinkopf added.
Tobe Berkovitz, a Boston University professor who specializes in political communications, said that on a 1 to 10 scale, with 10 being the most damaging, the video footage rated "a 15."

One silver lining to the health cloud may be the extent to which it has sidelined the controversy over the "basket of deplorables" comment.

We have to wait a week for the impact of Sunday’s event to register in the polls, if they can even be somewhat trusted to reveal the bad news. Trump is up to 3% ahead today. It should be 7 to 10% in a week if Scott Adams is right about recent events providing a narrative for Indies to come out and commit. If Trump is,in reality, up by 20% in November no amount of fraud will cover it.
If she stumbles again in public again, the American people will come to the realization that this inherently dishonest, shamelessly corrupt, impaired and sloppy woman is simply not fit to be President. The fact that a majority has not yet already come to that conclusion is a separate and depressing issue. However it is the muddled middle that will determine this election. Hopefully they will come to recognize the obvious. Another visual of Hillary being carried in public will be the visual they need.

People expect politicians to badmouth the competition--They don't expect politicians to go into cardiac arrest and collapse in the public eye.
I don’t think the “basket of deplorables” comment is forgotten by engaged voters. Her sudden pneumonia is a quick band-aid for non-engaged voters who don’t realize her long-term ills. While she “recovers” she gets some leeway but thereafter, when she again trips or collapses, it will be hard to explain away. Can she run out the clock? I seriously doubt it. She’s already been taking time off, hardly campaigning and even then to small groups. I don’t think they can pump her full of enough drugs to keep up with the campaign rigor. She’ll pull a Michael Jackson with the help of her doctors at the rate she’s going.

Typical MSM reporting. Trying to maintain what little credibility they have by stating Hillary’s in trouble BUT somehow she’s still always ahead for the election.
Much like their writer’s cramp from typing how the polls are always, always, “tightening” or “narrowing” but even after the months “tightening” and/or “narrowing” Hillary in the lead.
With this much “tightening” and/or “narrowing” wouldn’t Trump be in the lead?

The disastrous political significance of this event has yet to be told.....b/c when Hillary came bounding out of Chelsea's Place looking happy, chirpy, ready to roll....she had no idea all of America had been watching disturbing videos of her in a catatonic state being dragged into the van.
The video was happenstance....shot by a passer-by and given to media. Had they known, her campaign would not have allowed the video hung out for public display.
The buzz is her staff found out about her condition the way we did....they realized they completely screwed-up.....giving out the ridiculous pneumonia story.

And I think her support will drop like a rock.

Now that right there, is a Freudian, accidental reference to the un-reported part of what happened while she was standing up against that concrete bollard.
She lost control. Harris Faulkner, on her Sunday evening program on Fox, used that term - once, and not again.
It's still outside the range of the retreating confessions that are taking place now, but while she was being propped up against that bollard and her brain was rebooting she soiled herself, and the reason she looked so vigorous after she left Chelsea's private clinic was not only pharmaceutical help, but some hygiene time and some fresh clothes, this time without the diaper. There was no need for it.

Isn't it ironic that, on the anniversary of the Benghazi terrorist attack, Hillary is being done in by a You Tube video?

To expound on what you said .... early in the campaign, there were stories & rumors how she needed help getting to her vehicle after rallies - people had to hold her up on both sides, she fainted or was close to it, etc. Maybe it was in Klein’s book, but there was this story that doctors told Hilly she needed a medical team to travel with her (doctor, nurse, etc.) & that Bill didn’t want her to run because she was in danger of something bad happening, maybe dying. Then there are the emails from Huma about putting Hilly down for a nap, how confused she is, the computer searches for durable adult diapers, new drugs for Parkinsons .... the lack of public appearances, photos of her having problems with stairs, the coughing (4 minute spell the last time), the weird head jerking video(s), the crazy look at the convention - eyes bugged, mouth agape ... now this video where she is obviousl propped up on the bollard, being held upright, then dragged in a state of collapse to the vehicle.
This seemingly progressive issue she has (neurological - I’m guessing Parkinson’s ‘cause she’s got most of the symptoms) is starting to advance/snowball & I’m not so sure she’s going to make it to election day without at least another major episode leaking out. Rush said yesterday her campaign has to feel like they are rolling the dice every time she makes a public appearance.
Hilly is her own worst enemy with the lies upon lies, even when she doesn’t need to lie. This time, I think she’s going to lie herself into a coffin, trying to avoid the medical community other than her paid-off doc to hide her condition. Suspicions have been raised, the so-called “conspiracy theory” nuts have been proven correct again. This whole self-inflicted mess may finally take her down in a permanent way - Hilly taken down by Hilly - it couldn’t happen to someone more deserving.
