The bill would ensure that retired miners receive hundreds of millions of dollars in benefits now at risk amid the industry's steep decline, precipitated by competition from cheaper natural gas and tightening environment regulations. Without congressional intervention, some of the funds could run out of cash by next year, the union says.

The Democratic unions roosters have come home and destroyed them. They got what they voted for. The union leaders all need to be replaced.

I just wish some union MEMBERS would come of their blind allegiance and see what has been wrought on their backs.
One has to wonder though if she really did announce her support, or is the paper just saying that she did?
Good point.
That needs to be acknowledged in a very public way before any bill is signed.
They didn’t learn anything from watching how much good it did the Steel Workers to be loyal so they have no one to blame but themselves.
