they want 10 years experience for a technique that is 2 years old.

The last company I worked at (before they replaced the Americans with H-1Bs and I took early retirement) once had a job ad for people with several years of experience with Java. At the time, Java had not been in use for that long.

Another goodie was when they advertized a job for someone with at least 10 years of experience testing digital loop carriers. Nearly all people who are good at this job use it as a stepping stone and get promoted out of it. Anyone who has had such a job for 10 years has probably reached their level of incompetence and isn't someone whom you would want to hire anyway.

In both of these situations, there were no applicants; so they declared them "jobs Americans couldn't do" and hired an army of kids from India with no qualifications at all. All the jobs were short-term, anyway. When the current cash-cow product ran out of steam, they closed the division.

Another problem with many (if not most) of the supposed zillions of computer-related jobs that are going unfilled is that 1) anyone who can afford the real estate prices within commuting distance is wealthy enough to retire and 2) if telecommuting is feasible, the job is probably being done by someone telecommuting from Bangalore.

THIS!

Out of all job postings at least 20% require experience/certification that ranges from highly unlikely for anyone to have to literally outright impossible. Companies are deliberately doing it either as an excuse not to hire anyone or so they can tell the US government “See? We can’t FIND any Americans, we need H1-b workers!”

I tell you what, one great way to turn a young person socialist is for him or her to find out it is literally impossible to have what the overpaid suit across the table wants from you for even an ‘entry level’ job.
