The Obama administration failed to inform a number of Democratic lawmakers that a $1.7 billion payment the U.S. sent to Iran earlier this year would be made wholly in cash, according to senators who spoke to THE WEEKLY STANDARD Wednesday.
"I did not know about [the cash payment], not until after reading about it," Michigan senator Gary Peters told TWS. "I had no prior knowledge of that."
Peters said that there was an "understanding" that "some payments" would be made, but did not recall being told that the transaction would occur in cash.
Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, who opposed the Iran nuclear deal, said that he did not know that the payment "was happening at all."
"I was not [briefed]," he said. "I just saw that."

Exactly! Where did odumbo and his ilk come up with $1.7 Bil in cash (foreign or not). If it were to come out of the U.S. coffers, congress would have to agree. There’s a rotten fish somewhere in the bucket and someone needs to explain exactly where that cash came from.

I am just amazed Ibama didn’t pay in the form of Highly Enriched Uranium that could be weaponized and used against us. That is his style, and the usual level of thinking shown by this administration.
But they were told the payment would be made, right? Just not in cash? Because it’s two problems.
One, that the payment was made. And two, that the payment was made in secret in cash and can be distributed in secret by the Iranians.
