Donald Trump, according to a new poll, is down just three points on Hillary Clinton in the traditionally-reliable Democratic state of Rhode Island, a state Barack Obama won by 27 points in 2012.

A poll released Wednesday from Boston’s Emerson College shows Clinton at 44 percent, Trump at 41 percent, Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson at 8.4 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 3.5 percent.

...

The college polled the presidential race in six New England states and New Jersey. The results show Clinton ahead in all seven states, though the contests are tight in Rhode Island, New Jersey and New Hampshire.

Emerson also showed Clinton up by only four in New Jersey. Better yet the Maine poll showed Trump leading by 5% in Maine's Congressional District 2, which would give him an extra electoral vote if he wins it. (This is important because there are a few reasonable swing state scenarios that could lead to a tie, such as Trump winning Romney's states, plus FL, OH, IA, NV, and NH.)

“...according to a new poll...”

Lots and lots of “new polls” - except the ones that report on reality. Those are quashed by a compliant media, since they indicate Trump’s winning pretty much everywhere.

Trump is going to get the EV in the Second CD in Maine. He might get all of Maine since it’s been trending GOP along with Iowa & Nevada over the past several years.

If these polls are reasonably accurate showing that New Jersey and Rhode Island are in play, hillary is in BIG trouble.

Well Trump isn’t Barky, and this is a different race...we have two WHITE people this time, not one White and one Black, and we have the American Voter backing Trump where only the, so they say, Black Community supported Barky...

Do they have enough residents there to even conduct a poll?

Last poll in CT he was down 7 and that was taken at the beginning of June... Obama took it by 20 or so... I bet if anyone polls that state they’ll find Hillary’s lead is 5 points or less.

Hillary is on her way to a disaster... Trump got tied up off message for a few weeks after the D convention, since then he has cleaned house and brought in the right people and since then has stayed on message!

Trump is going to win Yuge folks... Hillary never had a chance.

Her ceiling is and always has been about 42/43 points, at best... and no guarantee she’ll even manage that come election day.

Mr. K: "Hillary average rally attendance: 300
Trump average rally attendance: 15,000"

Thanks for that, I'd love to see a recognized source.
Some of the media hints at it, but none that I've seen ever gives us the real numbers.

I don’t know how to read rally attendance.

It seemed that Romney was drawing tons more people than Obama in 2012. I think the gimmeedats don’t care about rallies...they just reliably come to the polls, whether they are real or not, and pull that “D” lever.
