WSJ: Entire $1.7 billion ransom paid to Iran in cash
American Thinker ^ | September 7, 2016 | Rick Moran

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that members of Congress were briefed by the Obama administration on how the rest of the $1.7 billion ransom payment to Iran was accomplished.

The transfer took place in late January with $400 million in cash being flown from Geneva to Tehran, after which, several Americans held in Iranian prisons were released. Yesterday, after months of demands from Congress for information on how the remaining $1.3 billion was transferred to Iran, the administration came clean and admitted the entire amount was paid in cash.

Another illegal and treasonous act by Obama and his administration.

Obama is knowingly and deliberately funding terrorism.

That cash - untraceable and easily transported - is going to kill a lot of innocent people. It's expected that Iran will spread that cash among its surrogates like the Houthi rebels in Yemen and Hezb'allah - the Lebanese terrorist group fighting with Russia in Syria to bolster the Assad regime.

Iran, already the world's #1 supporter of terrorism, just got a financial shot in the arm that will truly make them the bankers of choice for terrorists.

Obama turns the US into a state sponsor of terrorism.

A billion dollars will get a lot of people killed.

The mullahs need foreign hard currency to pay their goons and thugs. Otherwise they would be hung by their own turbans by the people they oppress.Obama and Kerry knew exactly why they wanted foreign currency cash.

Is the United States government really this stupid? It’s another way for Obama to give our money to Iran. God knows how much he’s funneled over the last eight years.

This is treason. I will never back down from that statement. Obama illegally gave our money to our enemies.
What’s worse is that there is no collective outrage over it. Is the American public brain dead?

Obanal has one heck of an EBT card and one nice banker who will let him take that much money out over a weekend!

And I thought it was illegal to leave the country with more than $10,000 cash?

Congress must act, soon. Not real soon, but soon.

I wonder how much of that $1.7B got “lost” and ended up in the Clinton Foundation, in Obama’s overseas accounts, or otherwise in the hands of our corrupt insiders.

Wait a minute. If I want to take $10000 of my own money out of the country, I have to fill out forms and notify the government. If I don’t, I’m committing a crime. Surely the government has to follow the same rules as its citizens, doesn’t it? (Is the sarcasm tag really necessary?)

$1.3 billion was transferred from the Treasury Department's Judgment Fund to more pallets of cash?

I wonder if maybe a stack or two fell off the pallets before being shipped.

It was in cash because they didn’t want to pay the fee to put it on their VISA card.

At 3%, that VISA fee could add up, plus the exchange rate, etc.

Did that money come out of Obamas secret “petty cash” account????...Be interesting to see how much is left in that untraceable account...and who authorized it.....

"I wonder if maybe a stack or two fell off the pallets before being shipped."

You know it!
Obama isn't letting that much cash go
without taking a cut. And yes folks, I do believe these
people actually steal money from the US Treasury. I mean
they literally have wads of cash transferred to their accounts or have it trucked to someplace they designate.
Who's there to stop them??
