A freshman tentatively raises her hand and takes the microphone. Im really scared to ask this, she begins. When I, as a white female, listen to music that uses the N word, and Im in the car, or, especially when Im with all white friends, is it O.K. to sing along?
The answer, from Sheree Marlowe, the new chief diversity officer at Clark University, is an unequivocal no.

Is this woman incapable of making moral judgements by herself? Does she need a keeper?

Regards,
This article has filled me with much self-doubt and hesitation.
I like to listen to traditional Irish songs in the car, some of which mention rebellion against England. Considering that the next car over might contain English tourists, would it be OK if I sing along?
Beat me to it!
What is this? The college equivalent of “ask the imam”?
“Subtle insults” has long been a way of life for southerners. I am offended by this attack on my culture and way of life!!!!!!!!!
Chalk this up as yet another reason to be pleased to be old. All the shizzle we missed by being born in the 50’s! I mean, rap music itself was avoidable (and successfully avoided, in my case), and then this PC nonsense in reaction to it, and its incredible vulgarity. Oy, ach-patooey on all of it!

“has” should have been “have”

Effing stupid. I have a lot of 90’s OG hardcore rap from DMX to the angry (back then) Ice Cube. I prefer to listen to those than today’s crap.
Holy moly. This is the generation we raised? The country will have collapsed into oblivion within a generation or two with these kids in charge.
We live in America, you have the right to free speech... so if you want to sing out the word Nigger, you can do it.. will others be offended by it? probably, but you certainly can do so if you like.
Once the Cleansing starts, people like her will be worm food in short order.
I see this young mind of mush being on the first train to the Soylent Green Corporation.

I have a running bet.
The “diversity” officer/presenter is invariably a female.
Double the bet if she’d a minority.
I’ve yet to lose.
I would take the hint that I was in the wrong car.
Dear Miss Marlowe,
Is it okay to call an Ofay a Honkie on campus?
