No, it was not. It was the overburdened American taxpayer.
I do believe things have reached a boiling point.
And that is saying something, given that Americans are the most generous people on the planet, always first on the scene in a huge natural disaster (Haiti earthquake; the tsunami, etc....)
California is an “ambulance case” and soon could be a “basket case” the way they are spending taxpayers money, often without proper accountability. And if they lose any more major businesses because of taxes, then their taxing base will shrink even further.
This is especially true if Hollywood and some of the TV networks keep producing junk. I haven’t been to a first run movie in over 10 years and I feel fine. I read a lot.
No emergency room in the US. is allowed to turn down someone in a medical emergency. Little Sergio could have been treated and his parents billed. And the bill would be a lot lower if there was competition instead of bloated bureaucracies and subsidies.
Same here. Wife and I drove by a fairly new free-standing theater complex and noticed it was empty, for sale.
In recent years they tried dollar movies and other gimmicks. But with streaming, DVDs, etc., people stopped going to see junk.

His routine care could also have been provided cost free (or near cost free) by the chain of Community Clinics all over the state. My mid-sized community has half a dozen of them.
One of the great blind-spots in the health care debates of the last decade has been “policy makers” who never take the time to find out what’s already in place before they graft on a duplicate program. There was a federal program addressing pre-existing condition exclusions, for example, long before Obamacare.
The question is, has, and will continue to be: “Who’s going to pay for this?” Any program that doesn’t provide a realistic answer to that question will fail. Doesn’t matter what it’s called, or how many pajama boys are touting it.
Because... political pride always comes to the fore. This makes a farce of the idea of charity.

And unfair to doctors. In CA the amount a doc gets for seeing a MediCal patient is only $20 since January. It dropped from $30, which didn’t pay the overhead either. How can doctors still accept these patients?? It costs the doctor personally to see them. Well, the answer is, they cannot. So the MediCal patients are forced to go to the ER. Um, the reason for Obamacare in the first place, right? Get the illegals and poor out of the ER for regular medical help. Ha.
Our nephew had febrile seizures as an infant. Scary for his parents but they didn’t call an ambulance; they called their doctor and then drove him to urgent care. Good grief.
No money, committed a felony to be here but by all means call a freaking ambulance when your kid has a fever because someone else will pay for it.
In the meantime young families in the US are working two jobs and eating hot dogs to pay their health insurance.
I’ve told this before, I’ve had 4 c sections. And the last time I shared a room with a woman who spoke no English. She had a c section too. I knew we would be paying for several months to pay off our 20% of the bill. And it steamed me that she probably had hers FOR FREE.
I feel that same anger and resentment, too. But we are just racists for not wanting hard working Americans to foot the bill for half the world.
I saw a family of south of the border people a few weeks back in Sam’s Club. They were speaking no English. They had a kid in a wheelchair, reclined back, that was obviously *severely* mentally and physically handicapped. What do you think the likelihood is that, that boy is getting all kinds of medical care and “therapy” and services at no cost? But we are supposed to say, “Thank you sir, bring over another.”
I think it will take just 400 years from the collapse of the US before things start to brighten up a bit.
The government think tanks have created and implemented so many ways to extract the last vestiges of wealth from the middle class. They have succeeded in their goal of wealth redistribution and destruction of the middle class.
America is pretty much done. Government - ie taxpayers - is expected to do everything for everyone, including non citizens.
Spending money on condoms means they cant spend it on alcohol and tricking out their cars. Or having a billion parties for different meaningless reasons.
We shoild fly all the illegals to cuba for their superior healthcare. They deserve the best. Let them stay, we cant deprive them of the best care in the world.
