At a certain point yes, once the more obvious environmental problems are taken care of (like flaming rivers) then there is room for counterproductive quackery. Who ever realized that the amount of mercury turned loose by these modern CFL bulbs as they break or people otherwise don’t send them to special recycling facilities, would call into question the amount of mercury spared from coal fired electricity emissions?
If there is an environmental solution to restoring Methuselah-like lifespans, I doubt the EPA will find it.
