Clinton isn’t doing better than previous Democrats with Latinos — even against Trump

In a presidential year expected to produce record turnout among Hispanic voters, there are few signs that Hillary Clinton is performing any better among Latinos than past Democratic presidential candidates — even with immigrant-bashing Donald Trump as her GOP opponent.

In Nevada and Florida, the two battleground states with the highest Latino populations, the Democratic nominee remains locked in a close race with Trump. Clinton is polling about the same as Democrats in previous contests among Latinos nationally, apparently gaining no ground from Trump’s historic unpopularity.

The close polls in Nevada and Florida have prompted Clinton’s allies to begin spending money targeting Hispanic voters in those states. The campaign itself will also begin airing Spanish-language ads in battleground states after Monday.

But some Democratic strategists fear that Clinton has already missed a unique opportunity and warn that counting on Hispanic voters to turn out just because they hate Trump is not a reliable strategy. Unlike President Obama four years ago, Clinton has run virtually no Spanish-language television ads in the general election, with the exception of a spot that aired during a one-day soccer event.

“I’m worried literally to death now that because Donald Trump is so visceral that they’ll think that Latinos will turn out because of that alone,” said Chuck Rocha, president of Solidarity Strategies, a Latino political-consulting firm that worked with Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary season. “Hate alone won’t motivate somebody to vote. . . . They need something to vote for.”

But there is also evidence that Clinton’s standing with Hispanic voters may be weakening. According to the same poll, Clinton’s favorability among Hispanics fell in August from 71 percent to 55 percent, a drop outside the sample’s 10-point margin of error.---------------------This is really bad news for witch!

Citizens of hispanic background are just as in favor of retaining the rule of law and the country as the rest of us.

The Ministry of Propaganda is just that.

They really had to twist that headline.

I almost assumed it meant the opposite of what was stated.

Bingo! It appears that many Latinos, unlike the wapo, can make the distinction between legal immigrants and illegal aliens.

I talked to an immigrant from Central America who was doing work on a neighbors condo. He could barely speak English but, he was 100% pro Trump. He said the Mexicans are not brought up right and he came here legally and did it right and they ought to as well.

The larger than expected Latino vote will be the surprise of the evening on election night. Trump is a MAN and makes no bones about it. This bodes well in the Latin culture.

Our marina has all Hispanic maintenance men. One of them is ......Trump! lol He told me the rest of the guys are giving him heck over it but he’s sticking to his convictions.
I’ve talked to him before and suspect the reason is that he lives right in the middle of a bunch of illegals. He told me that none of them work, they all live off their baby mama’s and can’t understand why he works.

...because she really DOESN’T care about anyone but herself.

Come on, folks. Isn’t this obvious to the most ignorant voter?

She has been running for this office since 1991. First with a proxy, then as a claimed candidate in ‘08.

Trump is doing this because he loves the nation. He doesn’t need the office. He wants the job—that is obvious from his schedule. He is older (chronologically) than Hitlery, but he is outrunning her in passion, in miles covered, in number of events, and in optimism. Trump is also reaching out to what the media thinks are his “enemies”—Mexicans last week, blacks this weekend. He is showing he wants to help lead all of those who are CITIZENS of this nation out of the malaise brought on by Hussein and Hitlery.
