There were some panicked posts earlier this week in some other firearms-focused sites which claimed the ATF had redefined wetted nitrocellulose as a high explosive, and that this redefinition would dramatically affect the availability and cost of ammunition.

Translation: The ATF is backwalking their initial statement until after the election because it’s starting to look like Trump’s going to win it and they don’t want to piss him off. Yet.
But, exactly the sort of “under the radar” scheme you know Obutthole’s thugs are feverishly studying for effectiveness in punishing firearm owners.
Bingo. They have tried stuff like this before. You can’t let your guard down for a moment with them.
I don’t trust the agency any farther than I can drop kick it.
Nice try though agents...
(not you RktMan)
No increase in the panic.
When .22 comes back down below $.05 a round and 9mm comes back down below $10.00 a box is when the panic will be over.
Sometime after Trump is elected.

Muttley was always my favorite character in those episodes...
Can’t trust them. Why would anyone? Especially ammo makers? Look what they do to just the gun sellers.
You’d be an idiot to believe they won’t use this the way they use other regulations.

$.60 for .22 WMR. I used to get that for $7.00 a box of 100.
I stopped looking for that.
It completely disappeared for quite some time and what could be found was ridiculously expensive.
It still is.
I am a patient man.
I’ll wait.
If Trump wins, the panic buying will end and prices will plummet.
I’m glad to hear it was hype. I still think the ATF should be disbanded.
Shipping puts it up a $0.082/round, which is what I pay in the retail store. And Thunderbolt is not really good for anything other than plinking, in my opinion. But it is great for plinking.
Just another Obama Admin test leak to see how mad people get
Thunderbolt is pretty reliable for plinking & always seems to work in my 10/22 but not the most accurate.
Online ammo sales do tend to get you on the shipping fees sometimes. It pays to shop around. In some cases, you can avoid sales tax, which helps offset shipping charges.
The last dip in prices was 2009 after the first Obama ammo panic. .22 could be had for $.03 a round.
Lately at the range it’s more than $.10 a round.
There have been times when the range owner has really had to scrounge to find any.
Yeh ATF is backtracking because one of the ammo manufacturers told them no ammo for John Q. Public no ammo for the govt either.
My local Walmart had sveral 50-rd boxes of two varieties (LRN and copper-plated) of .22 LR Wednesday morning.
Didn’t look at the price.
Don’t know if it was a weekly early-morning shipment that was wiped out by 9 AM.
Cabela’s has had large supplies lately. Again, I don’t know at what price.
I shoot the stuff so rarely I have an unopened brick from the time of the Clinton administration (ptooie! may there not be another).
