An anonymous group called "The Betsy Riot," encourages anti-gun pranks and vandalism all over the country. "We are infuriated by slaughter, and by the ignorant, violent, racist, sexist, fear-mongering gun culture that enables it, and by the overly polite and deferential failed attempts to quell it. We are here to change that," they told me in an email.
The Betsy Riot | From Facebook
Vandalism painted Saturday on a retaining wall outside Roanoke lawyer Mel Williams office on Third Street in the Old Southwest neighborhood. The photo was carried on the Facebook page of The Betsy Riot, a new anti-gun group.
Many of you likely havent heard about the vandalism at an office in the historic Old Southwest neighborhood on Saturday. Thats because such petty crime rarely makes the news. This is an exception, however, because of the entities involved.
One is the National Rifle Association, the deep-pocketed and so-called defenders of Second Amendment rights. (Its chief executive, Wayne LaPierre, hails from Roanoke.) Another is The Betsy Riot, a shadowy anti-gun group of self-styled neosuffragettes who exist, at least, in cyberspace. Their motto is F- Yer Guns. Theyre vowing to take on the pro-gun crowd in every non-violent way possible.
Caught in the middle is the victim, Roanoke lawyer Mel Williams, who owns the property on Third Street that got defaced. He leased a spare office in his building to the NRA two weeks ago.
The NRA held an open house there Saturday. Thats when someone apparently two women defaced a retaining wall outside. In red or pink chalk or paint, they wrote MURDER LOBBY in foot-tall letters. Most of that since has been scrubbed away, Williams told me.

Just a bunch of far-left gay gang feminists doing their best to further destroy America. Yeah, disarm those who have respect for law and order, the Constitution, God and America. Yeah, that's the ticket! </sarc>
Next time we can just spray paint them when the time comes. Its only fair.
He should sue them for libel.

The right to self defense from others (other people / tyrannical governments) is an Unalienable right, PERIOD.
I think every patriot should stockpile a bucket or 2 of tar and a big bag of feathers.
someone should find some of the more “uncomfortable” quotes from the “Progressive era” crones on their homepage and Slam these progressive/regressive era jerkwads with them.
I’m kind of surprised that this is in Roanoke.
Virginia is changing rapidly.
I may have to move up my relocation plans.
It certainly getting to that point, isn’t it?
One person who has heard of them is Andy Parker, the anti-gun activist from Henry County. His daughter Alison was one of two WDBJ-TV (Channel 7) journalists gunned down at Smith Mountain Lake by a handgun-toting madman a year ago.
Parker told me hes not involved with The Betsy Riot. As for what happened at Williams office, I enjoyed seeing what they did, he said.
The intel Ive gotten is, if you think Im extreme, they make me look like Im sitting idly by, Parker added. Which is great, I think Without condoning it, I applaud their actions.
I could swear I heard a wink over the phone when he said that.
-----------------------
I guess they forgot that the madman that killed Alison Parker was Vester Lee Flanagan, a big Obama supporter.
Wait... hold on.
This guy doesn't know what words mean.
Did I mention he was also a “gay escort?”
He was also broadcasting on air with an Obama sticker on his lapel on election night.
They forgot “xenophobic, misogynist, doo-doo heads” and a few other left-wing cliches.
Is chalk really vandalism?
They have the right to publicize they’re completely unarmed and won’t defend themselves if they’re attacked or raped.
Oh, the sniveling cowards want to play a game, huh? Wonderful!
This reminds me of what a few people (not me, certainly) suggested might be entertaining - many years ago: That when/if it became illegal to own certain firearms, that someone who owned (or used to own) such a weapon could take some fired shell casings from such weapon and spread them on the property of some local (or not local - depends on your taste) anti-gun zealot...and then anonymously call the police to report that you saw someone on the property with an assault rifle or whatever the unpopular/illegal gun of choice in that jurisdiction might be. Of course, in such a hypothetical circumstance, one would thoroughly wipe all fingerprints and biological materials from said fired shells, and place the call from an untraceable burner phone. Maybe being able to disguise ones voice would be advantageous. All in theory, of course - remember, this was a discussion of what might be entertaining, someday and somewhere.
Variants on this included putting several different types of shells on the target property....223/5.56 mm, .308/7.62mm, 9mm, .45 ACP, .22 LR, etc., etc. - all for the purpose of making sure that the person was, umm, well vetted by the authorities. Oh, and calling the local news media (again, on a burner phone) to report the unexpected police activity was viewed as a real enhancement to the entertainment.
Potential targets for this hypothetical prank included local or state politicians (or federal ones, if available), judges, prosecutors, newspaper and TV reporters, influential people in the community, turncoats who had been pro-gun or who made a lot of money selling to the police, etc. - IOW, anybody who was notably and publicly for the abolition or control (i.e. abolition) of firearms in the hands of the general public. The basic idea was to increase the cost of being anti-gun and/or to punish those who had harmed the citizenry by their words and deeds. Oh, and as yet another enhancement of the entertainment value, a couple of people suggested that possibly some of the better-known targets, or the office-holding targets, might be too well guarded to do such a deed...which naturally led to someone (I dont recall who, it was a LONG time ago) suggested that the adult children of such a person (if they had adult children) would be great alternative targets.
Again, this was all about entertainment - nobody who was discussing the idea (and I certainly dont recall any of the internet names of those people, let alone their actual names) was actually calling for people to do this kind of thing...which, as anyone with any sense would know, would be a violation of the law. Nope, it was just entertainment, thats all.
2. I.D. the vandals!!!
3. Out them on social media!!!
4. Have them arrested!!!
5. Rinse and repeat.
Why give them hits on their site?
And this man was such a good father to the murdered woman that she was shacking up with some man and not the least embarrassed to tell everyone about it.
Gorilla Glue and foam packing peanuts... let’s be 21st century about this.
