U.S. manufacturing contracted last month for the first time since February, as new orders and output plummeted and factories cut jobs.

The Institute for Supply Management said Thursday that its manufacturing index dropped to 49.4 in August from 52.6 in July. Any reading below 50 signals contraction.

The report suggests that manufacturers continue to struggle as businesses spend less on machinery, computers and other large equipment. Auto sales have also leveled off this year after reaching a record level in 2015. …

It’s gotta happen at once like August 08’. October will be even better-the perfect storm.

I have never believed that we got out of the last recession. The experts may have their own way of determining whether or not we are in or out of a recession; however, I simply could not buy it while the unemployment/underemployment was (and is) so high.

But, what do I know? I'm just a h.s. graduate with no college degree from an Ivy League over-priced diploma mill.

You can thank Obamacare for the PT economy. They changed what was considered full-time work in order to put more people on O-care. So, nobody gets more than 27-28 hours a week. I used to get my coffee drink at a grocery store that was close to my house. The girl who worked there was complaining to a customer that she would really love to have one job that paid her the same as the two jobs that she was working. She wasn't wanting to be CEO or anything like that. Just one part-time job, that gave her the hours she used to have; but, they don't exist anymore. She was working her way through college -- she was doing the right thing. Yeah, Obamacare. So many victims, so little time.

You are smarter than all those pointy headed goofballs.
They are all educated way beyond their intelligence.

The Obama media has been crowing that the recession ended just weeks after he first got into office and since then, they have been pushing the idea that we are in another recovery summer.

These are the same goofs who release all kinds of metrics about the economy and how many illegals are here and on and on.

Wasn't that Mark Twain's definition of a "Mugwump"?
