You didn't need to have the sound working while viewing MSNBC's Morning Joe today to know things were not going well for Hillary Clinton. The sad looks on the faces of hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough pretty much revealed the story. A sense of gloom had descended upon the set of Morning Joe (or Mourning Joe) as Mika led off detailing the latest drip, drip, dripping of Hillary scandals.
Then, Joe joined added to the mournful mood by noting how the polls have been tightening in recent days. This was all in stark contrast to the upbeat mood of just a few weeks ago when Hillary was so far ahead in the polls that they were practically declaring his political funeral.

Actually, on the occasions that I've watched, Mika has been reasonably tough on Hillary's surrogates and it actually appears that she considers her to be a horrible candidate. The problem is that being a far left democrat is Mika's natural state of being and she can't consider a different state. She's stuck. Hence the doom and gloom on the show and the only approach they can consider is to tell lies about Trump and shoot their mouths off with endless name-calling.

Trump handled the Mexican President with respect yet resolve.
He repeatedly said the trade & immigration issues are a disaster for BOTH countries.
Trump passed the interview today - that news conference feed is the only commercial he needs to run for the next 10 weeks ..
The Mourning Schmoe looks like and is apparently is a much of a moron as the banjo boy from Deliverance. Also someone should make him answer what happened to the dead female staffer in his Congressional office.
I wouldn’t doubt if Kellyanne was behind the idea for that meeting. Focus groups probably mentioned that they could not picture Trump as president and the Mexico/Louisiana visits are taking care of that. Pure genius.

Bringing up “OK, your citizens aren’t coming up at higher rates, but those from further south are hurting BOTH of us” was a good way to prevent the Mexican President’s statement from ending the discussion.

It was actually stated that Clinton is too good to run an effective campaign:
“There’s no other reason. She’s prepared, she actually makes sense when she makes speeches, she’s measured, she cares about the country, she’s been serving for decades and saying a lot of the same things about what she thinks is important for this country for decades and fighting for people for decades. Those are the reasons her candidacy is impaired. There are no others.”
This fits well with the “progressive” basic assumption that most voters are too stupid to know what is good for them.
It is also a reflexive repetition of tribalism “we are good, they are not”.
