PENNINGTON-Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday vetoed a proposal to boost New Jersey's minimum wage to $15 an hour.
The Republican governor visited a Pennington grocery store to make remarks and announce the veto of the legislation. It's the second time during his time as governor that Christie rejected a minimum wage hike sent to him by the state's Democratic-controlled Legislature.
The move was met with outrage by Democratic-leaning groups.
Christie also argued more employees would be replaced by automated kiosks at small businesses if the state hikes its minimum wage.
"That's the way of the future if we continue to do this really radical increase with the minimum wage," Christie said.

Obviously the Dems hadn't read the report from Seattle whereby the number of employees was reduced as wages went up.
Also, most jobs lost were in the 'entry level' positions, therefore cutting off entry into the labor market for the unskilled and under-educated .
While $15.00 Dollars per hour sounds good for economic redistribution, it is not practical !
The lazy, extortionist RATS think the minimum wage is A SALARY.
“While $15.00 Dollars per hour sounds good for economic redistribution, it is not practical ! “
That’s not its purpose. Its purpose is to screw up the system and displace more workers, forcing them onto gov’t assistance. Okay, yes, it is for redistribution of wealth, just not by them having jobs.
Minimum wages should be abolished in every state and every state should nullify the unconstitutional federal minimum wage.
Good 4 the Guv!
Looks like Chis has slimmed down a little. Good for him.
He is the best governor we could hope for in NJ; he isn’t able to stop the death spiral here, but at least he’s trying to slow it. The Dems pretend everything is just fine...
$15/hour??I know the Dems would love to keep teens unemployed...Don’t they know that if you want 15/hour, GET A F**KING EDUCATION...
I’m glad to see Chris has at least some sense. His state is hurting very badly and jacking the minwage to $15 an hour would be a kick in the balls.
