That is my favorite TR quote. I use it often when counseling others who have tried and failed at something.

You tried and it didn’t work. So what. You tried which puts you miles ahead of everyone else, who’s opinions don’t matter anyway.

Yes. I went to the Nixon Presidential Museum when it was just a house and gardens. Oh, the docents were fabulous! The stories about his mom making her angel food cake very early in the morning when the stars were twinkling brought tears to your eyes.
