As always, thank you AB for doing this post every Sunday, so reliably. Thank you Bray for weekly wisdom, thank you yon commenters for fleshing out the Sunday political talk shows.
And Jeff C., I got your Freepmail and will answer. Forgot about it but will respond now that it’s on my todo list.
Went to church with Diane Feinstein yesterday. Hadn’t been going with her because it’s summer and we have no choir. So church attendance not dictated by choir schedule is self-select and we don’t always choose the same service.
Diane Feinstein looks like me and when we sit together, heh….we confuse everybody. We both sing, pretty loudly, and we look alike. Other parishioners will turn around and ask, first if we are in the choir, and second, are we sisters.
So I been doing a little improving of my looks and I’m starting to look pretty good. Diane Feinstein, who looks like me (and so does the REAL one though she is much older) really noticed.
First I got my fingernails done and do so every two weeks cause I got tired of looking at stubby chipped nails with dirt embedded beneath. Also my toe nails and no it’s not free. But when my daughter, who crushed me emotionally, lived near me my whole life was spent dealing with her, paying for her. Such as finger and toe nails fell by the wayside that I pay for her cable and electric and groceries.
Of course with the fine, fine fingernails I had to get some rings, no? Some costume things, filigree, that kind of thing. One on ring finger, one on thumb, one of other hand index finger and one on pinkie. Don’t want to look like a hippie but want to look sophisticated.
Also been going to gym and starting to slim down. Also finally, after 66 years, found the perfect shade of lipstick for me. VERY VERY dark red, do not say NO, it looks terrific on me.
Next, THE TATTOO! Just a rose, smallish, on my neck or bottom of my leg.
Diane Feinstein was quite impressed but she could do the same thing. I tried to talk her into going to the gym with me but she acted like I was asking her to join me in hell.
Anyway, went to Cardio guy last week and I need 85 stents in my left leg and about ten in my right. Of course I exaggerate. But I do need ten in my left leg, man it’s amazing I been able to walk. And only then I been able because….well I keep walking.
So cardio doc, who replaced the guy from Pakistan who I could never understand, told me he recommends I have the stents then gives me big show how it’s done. And I understood every word. One should never have a doctor one can’t understand. One should especially never have a HEART doctor they don’t understand and yeah, I think the prior guy might be a Muslim, which I wasn’t comfortable with, so call me a racist. We all are.
It’s been over eight years since my heart bypass and I been struggling with these legs. So I figure, once cardio guy I can understand said to get the stents, which he was very cavalier about by the way….well I’ll think about it being that I already waited eight years for the doctor I could not understand.
“You have to do it in the next 30 days,” he tells me. Or else the insurance will make go through the CT again, appointment with him, yada, yada.
Go to hell.
There I was thinking I’d go in the hospital maybe next summer and dear Lord I got to do in 30 days?
So within the next two to three weeks I shall be going in hospital. Cardio guys says I would stay one night, tops. Got niece coming to stay at my house with dogs. Do not have daughter who would be jealous of my blockages for the sympathy she so desperately craves should be denied her.
Anyway, Hillary and that Clinton foundation. Nobody up there on capital hill knew this woman was selling our country to the highest bidder? McCain, McConnell, et al….had NO clue about this? Or did they let it go on because they didn’t want to fight the battle?
Carry on people. Enlighten me.

Up until recently the ‘Clinton Foundation’ was donating 3% of their money to actual ‘charity work’. The rest went to salaries, hotels, travel expenses... etc. Chuck Todd’s a fool for buying the Clinton line on this - - or he’s on the take, or horribly biased.
Tim Russert’s son made an on air comment before ‘leaving’ NBC that identified the NBC round table as ‘us’ - when asked what he meant he said ‘us - democrats’. His father’s son - honest when lying would be easier. A ‘problem’ Chuck Todd doesn’t have...

Thanks for this thread . For the second week in a row I’ve had to turn off these shows. I’ll read the recap here . This campaign has succeeded in showing how one sided the media is.
NBC MTP mentioned the common sense position from the U of Chicago president that they would not be a safezone for delicate students and that all ideas will be open for discussion there.
VANITY REQUEST:
It prompted a discussion with my JFK-era-loving spouse who maintained that conservative colleges would finally hear liberal thought....at which point I maintained she was upside down and that there are no conservative colleges (Hillsdale aside).
I vaguely remember Coulter tossed with eggs, but don’t remember specifics of the dozens of universities that have banned conservative speakers and created safezones. Any help would be appreciated. And any instances of the reverse (in which liberals were denied access)
