Inside Facebook’s (Totally Insane, Unintentionally Gigantic, Hyperpartisan) Political-Media Machine

Open your Facebook feed. What do you see? A photo of a close friend’s child. An automatically generated slide show commemorating six years of friendship between two acquaintances. An eerily on-target ad for something you’ve been meaning to buy. A funny video. A sad video. A recently live video. Lots of video; more video than you remember from before. A somewhat less-on-target ad. Someone you saw yesterday feeling blessed. Someone you haven’t seen in 10 years feeling worried.

The trashier Facebook gets, the less weight it will have.

I have come to the inevitable conclusion that Facebook, Twitter, etc. are all just some of the many little “nice to have” things and not among the greater “must have” things in life. I have further concluded that the world is not a better place because of social media.

IIRC, Zuckerberg met with Obama a few years ago. No news from the actual meeting, but I came away with the impression that Obama had co-opted Zuckerberg and Facebook, to gain more information on all Facebook users......especially about those users who didn’t agree with Obama’s politics.

F_Book is a subsidiary of the NSA—this happened before the days of Obama.

F_Book is not your friend.

The trashier Facebook gets, the more vindicated I feel in never wanting to have anything to do with it. Nothing. I’ve never looked at a Facebook page. Well ... not counting possible over-the-shoulder glimpses ... but honestly ...

A place to only visit on occasion. Would never think of residing there. An extremely helpful tool for some, a walk off the gangplank for others.

I never (well, almost never) open my Facebook feed. I only use it to read up on things in three or four closed groups I belong to (one being FR related).

I quit talking politics on Facebook years ago.

Abandon Facebook.
Zuckerberg is using his wealth from Facebook to fund illegal alien advocacy groups.

I have been on FreeRepublic since 1997-8. I only signed up on FB a couple of weeks ago. I am not impressed with FB. I don't care to see how a distant relative is remodeling his bathroom or an acquaintances new hair color or their grandchildren. I keep going back there occasionally thinking maybe it will get better..............but it doesn't.

That is different than my views. I grew up in a small MS town. There were about 50 in my class. I love reading about their lives plus posts by my relatives. I am 72 and many have passed. I treasure their posts I subscribe to several groups or people who post pictures of abandoned places. I have to wonder why some of the once beautiful houses were abandoned. The stories they could tell All but one of
my friends/relatives are conservative Christians. FB is what the user makes it.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Facebook steals your identity and sells it to government snd corporations.

Zuckerbird claims that he wants to cure all diseases. But he is a voracious bloodsucker who couldn’t cure anything!!!!

Delete your Facebook account. Stop feeding the monster!!!!
