Colin Kaepernick explains why he sat during national anthem
NFL ^ | August 27, 2016 | Steve Wyche

- San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has willingly immersed himself into controversy by refusing to stand for the playing of the national anthem in protest of what he deems are wrongdoings against African Americans and minorities in the United States.

[snip] "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

He's a hypocrite. If he feels this way, he should leave the country and the success and riches that go with it.

There is no other country on earth where blacks do as well. I'm tired of this great nation getting pissed on by those who benefit so greatly from it.

Just another NFL thug. And, another reason not to watch/support “the league”...same with the NBA.

I recall the St. Louis Rams (last year)...several players ran on to the field in support of BLM and the “Gentle Giant” with their hands in the air...”hands up, don’t shoot”...

Sports used to be sports...now politics has invaded everything.

He’s personally the quarterback of a major NFL team earning millions of dollars per year. The President of the United States is black. And so on and so forth. And he won’t stand for the National Anthem with this rationale: “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”

Unfortunately, Colin Kaepernick has just the right initials so that “it” can’t be posted. So we must thoughtfully settle for this: CKFU!

This kid needs a spanking——

IF he cannot play football-—WHAT is he going to have for a career??? I don’t think he was an “A” student at UNR.

Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to rescue a stray dog.

Very “helpful” for him to sit out the anthem (maybe he should have raised a fist in a black glove, too /sarc) .... to those who want to further divide this country by race & whatever other divisive reason they can come up with. Obviously, he’s on board the Obama Divider-in-Chief/Hillary train. There are many other positive things he could have done instead of insulting the country that has treated him so well. Take the racial cinder block on your shoulder & go home, Mr. NFL Big Bucks Quarterback. I won’t be watching you play.

And ungrateful - now much does this pos make a year off what he thinks are his racist fans? Until the 49ers dump this bitch, I want them to lose every game. Free speech, sure, but this is retarded free speech.

Blaine Gabbard is besting him for the starting QB position and little Colin is taking his anger out under the guise of racism.

Just another DIM-BULB athlete who DOESN'T get it, and whose career is on the down slide.

Yet another reason among many I'm no longer watching NFL football.

The Rams debacle kind of did it for me, and my hero Peyton Manning retired. They no longer have anything that I need to see.

I’m sure he’ll continue to vote the same way that his oppressed people have for over a century.

There is no shortage of these idiots.
