Hillary Clinton Denounces the ‘Alt-Right,’ and the Alt-Right Is Thrilled
NY Times ^ | Aug. 26, 2016 | ALAN RAPPEPORT

Posted on 08/26/2016 6:36:39 PM PDT by Innovative

As Hillary Clinton assailed Donald J. Trump on Thursday for fanning the flames of racism embraced by the “alt-right,” the community of activists that tends to lurk anonymously in the internet’s dark corners could hardly contain its glee.

Mrs. Clinton’s speech was intended to link Mr. Trump to a fringe ideology of conspiracies and hate, but for the leaders of the alt-right, the attention from the Democratic presidential nominee was a moment in the political spotlight that offered a new level of credibility. It also provided a valuable opportunity for fund-raising and recruiting.

Did her conspiracy theory Putin controls Trump while saying Trump was part of a vast alt-right conspiracy help her or hurt her?

Maybe I am misreading your question, but listening to Hillary's speech yesterday, I thought she said Putin is essentially the head honcho of this disturbing trend that includes the alt-right.

Help or hurt: in my opinion, I think it hurts her. She is overplaying the racist card and once again sounding like a paranoid conspiracy nut. She was hammered on Twitter for her paranoia and her hypocrisy.

Hillary may have latched on to the Alt-Right moniker out of desperation, but she’s a whiz with CTRL-Left-Delete.

Lol,

It is an improvement. She has no substance, new ideas. Her ideas are far more worn out than she looks herself. Even if she had good ideas, she is so inept that they would never be realized.

They are the opposite of social justice warriors politically, but copy some of the left’s tribal tactic.
For example, alt-right supports whites having their own culture and having a “white” group identity. For the left, every culture is wonderful except Europeans, and all diversity is good except for the bad monolithic culture of whites.
They are also more ready to troll SJWs, though the SJWs did it first, and they are more analytical and don’t immediately accept the left’s arguments. For example, the left calls someone a racist and most conservatives try to prove why they aren’t a racist. An alt-right immediately jumps in with how the KKK is all Democrat or BLM chanting death to whites videos.

What’s with the “alt” qualifier? You’re either simply Right or you’re wrong. Go Trump Go!

It’s really not too bright to call the majority of Americans the “KKK” and Nazis. Because that’s essentially what she’s doing by lumping all Americans with traditional values in with her little imaginary vast alt right-wing conspiracy.

Even Americans who may not be that traditional but respect human decency and fairness.

It is really stupid to not think we all might get damned sick of cowering when they call us lies like “racist.” They are bullies, pure and simple. Everyone is so against bullying; well, the libs and their media monkeys are the bullies here.

They are only a hair for palatable than one of their favorites, Bill Ayers, back in college, when he tried to force a girl he dated to screw his black friend in his dorm room. As the friend lay on Bill’s bed, waiting, and the poor girl said no, Bill called her a racist. Why can’t the Voters see that the Libs are no different?

How many have heard of the alt right before this?

Its been around for years. The term always reminded me of the old Usenet newsrooms. I think most of them are trolls, even when they have a ton of intellect behind them (Milo), but there is a fairly large contingent whom I would consider intellectuals.

Funny, they remind me of the troll-Left of the early 70s, similar tactics, Alinsky turned on its head.

I know of no one here who has ever heard of this before , and yet the media seems to think it is the equivalent of the KKK. I might add which is a Dem group throughout history,.

Actually I had heard of it before now, but I interpreted it differently. I always thought it was the fiscally conservative, pro-liberty, socially moderate to socially liberal part of the party. Basically the Milo Yiannopolous types.

Hardly anyone in the online community knows what that is. And it's a certainty that most voters don't have a clue what she and the press are babbling on about. And it's for sure that hardly anyone is going to look it up.

Colossally stupid line of attack. Some geek liberal has been on the boards and got their panties in a wad about alt right and advised Clinton that gee this is a good thing to tie trump to.

Understand that this is the NY Times's formulation of the thing and so largely spinning like a top. Make no mistake, they're scared as hell of this and it's because they can't control it, shape it, or shame it out of existence.

The alt-right claims to support the preservation of white culture in the United States [Nope], and many of its members want to see an overhaul of the entire political system. [Yup.]

Tear it down. These geriatric social justice warriors have turned full totalitarian before they fade, but fade they will, and it's on them now. The only cohesion the Right has at the moment is an utter, visceral loathing of what the Left has become and a determination to set the rule of law back in its place. That cohesion is unlikely to last, but if enough heads roll, it may not matter.

FWIW,

I’ve noticed that the left and their cohorts are already shifting the narrative or at least the words they are using.

While some are still saying “Alt-Right”, I’m hearing them use “White Nationalist” more and more.

Alt-Right probably didn’t poll very well, too confusing.

White Nationalist, on the other hand, probably polled through the roof with the BLM, SJW, Media and democrat crowds.
