The new movie "Southside With You," which opens Friday, is a feature film about Barack and Michelle Obama's first date in 1989. It's perhaps best described as a "Before Sunrise" for political wonks: The story spans a single day as the future first couple catch a movie, visit an art museum, and talk about their hopes and dreams while meandering through Chicago. On a more meta level, the movie is about the creation of the Obamas' private-life narrative - a shaping of how the public will understand them in the future and an acknowledgment of how it sees them now.

Saw the trailer the other day on TV. Almost puked.

The story spans a single day as the future President meets his future wife in a Brothel, they begin Smokin Crack together, have some drinks, smoke some weed, then they go over to the Weather Undergound Terrorists Home of Bill Ayers, where they begin to plan the Wholesale Destruction of the American Way of Life and America itself.
Probably closer to the truth!
How wonderful. Do we get to hear them talk about how bad this country is? How they are ashamed of it? How they would turn it into a muzlim country if they had the chance? How they would stifle job growth? How they would turn the IRS against their enemies? How they would bring in hordes of America-hating savages?
Did they meet at a bath house?
Why would anyone want to see a movie about ANYONE’S first date?
Hollywood must be desperate.
