Unnamed taxi driver has been located by officers from Civil Police and quizzed at Rio police station
Officers now say the guard did NOT pull his gun on the athletes Detectives have demanded the other three swimmers hand over their Uber records Lochte already abandoned the most dramatic details of his account of the robbery - that their taxi driver was stopped and a cocked gun pressed to the swimmer's head Another police theory is that the swimmers went to Copacabana beach, which is notorious for its raucous nightlife
DailyMail.com has found that, far from being robbed, Lochte and his friends had in fact destroyed a gas station toilet and at first refused to pay for the damage, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation. The source said the four handed over money after the guard at the gas station insisted they pay.
Brazilian investigators are also investigating the possibility that the four took a diversion on the way home, possibly to stop off in Copacabana, which is famed for its raucous nightlife and sex tourism.
Police are also working on the theory that the players concocted or embellished their robbery account to conceal a visit to Copacabana, an area teeming with clubs, bars, drunken revelers and prostitutes. The hour and nine minutes in between would have been just enough to drive over to the bustling bar strip, before retreating to the secure Olympic complex.
Detectives say it is feasible the swimmers could have been conned or tricked into losing their cash. 'Copacabana makes a lot of sense for four drunk guys. It's really famous for girls and parties,' said our source.
They also believe 12-time Olympic medalist Lochte was keen to conceal his overnight escapades from his Playboy model girlfriend, Kayla Rae Reid.

Millions in endorsements up in smoke.
Hope you had fun boys...
I hope this hurts his endorsements. Pyle....he is on top of the world and can do whatever he wanted in life....then does this.
Brazil too. Brazil doesn’t mess around when foreiners f up. Jails in Brazil ain’t pretty. It seems the other part of their bodies where leading them. Not the on their shoulders.
Then why go to the cops and concoct a story to begin with? Just eat the money you lost (after paying off the guard at the gas station) and go back to the Olympic village.
He’ll be popular in prison, she looks like a skank.
I did many stupid things as a teen (although Lochte is certainly not a teen)
But if I was a star-athlete, drunk, abroad in a strange city, destroyed somebody’s property, got caught, had to pay up at the point of a gun, and made it out alive — I would consider the whole transaction “even”
Why would Lochte even want to publicize that something happened?
The ugly Americans :(
Assuming the filthy Brazilians are telling the truth...
We’re all lucky if we can get through our young and foolish years without getting a tattoo, getting killed on a motorcycle, getting married to the wrong woman, or getting arrested in Brazil for tearing up a filling station toilet.
Low class prostitute. But what does one expect from people that pose publicly nude.
At least hookers actually demand something for putting out.
There are new reports that the swimmers were telling the truth. I think it’s on Gateway Pundit and Drudge.
Life in Obama’s America. A new generation of ugly Americans.
getting married to the wrong woman,
well, three out of four’s not too bad...
The video shows the swimmers at the gas station sitting down with their hands in the air - not something people usually do unless ordered to, commonly at gunpoint. I have not seen any video of them smashing anything.
Reports say his mother contacted the cops, not the guys.
I’m three for three. Although there are two applicants for the #4 spot, I’m quite leery about filling the position.
Lesson to all:
Don't lie to your mother! Not because it's bad, but because they can't stop themselves from meddling in your affairs, and if you tell them a lie they will meddle anyway and just make it worse.
As the commercial goes, it's what they do.
