US vs China war would be ‘intense, destructive, protracted’ (RAND)

CHINA could match the military might of the US in a decade and any conflict between them would rock the entire world economy.

That is the frightening warning issued by research organisation, Rand Corporation, which highlights how the US and China remain at loggerheads over several regional disputes with large military forces operating closely together.

In its new report War With China, Thinking Through the Unthinkable, Rand warn any conflict would ultimately be intense, destructive and protracted.

“If an incident occurred or a crisis overheated, both have an incentive to strike enemy forces before being struck by them,” the report warns.

“And if hostilities erupted, both have ample forces, technology, industrial might, and personnel to fight across vast expanses of land, sea, air, space and cyberspace.”

The report also warns while the US has the military might to win any such conflict now, that may not be the case within a decade as the Asian powerhouse catches up.

By 2025, Rand predicts China will have built up its ability to saturate enemy naval forces with missiles and a US victory at this stage would be more uncertain.

The US remains the biggest spender on military across the globe, spending four times as much as rival China. Figures released by Global Firepower (GFP) confirms spending in 2015 was highest for the US ($581bn) followed by China ($155bn).

“Rock the world economy” is a grave understatement.

A war with China would soon go nuclear and that would be it... for everything!

Our once glorious army has been feminized and faggotized in the name of diversity. if we don’t win in november, the Unites States as we know it is gone for ever.

We can thank the Clinton Loral Space kickback for a large chunk of this...

The only way the media will allow the United States to fight a long war would be if the United States was fighting Conservatives and Christians.

All of this happening right under Obama’s nose. And don’t forget all the islands China has built. They’re there for a reason.

We can thank the Globalist Republicans actually - Loral and John Huang were terrible but China couldn’t get out of its own way back then. Now with their mercantilism and willing US Govt partners they’ve de-industrialized the USA and built their own nation into a powerhouse. No way we could beat them if it came to it - what would do - buy Chinese steel and uniforms while we were fighting them?

The media would be on board because Obama would lead it, and, if Hillary wins, the war would have caused the win.

Never forget history: the advantages of long wars for tyrannical governments. The media is now part of ours.

The big question is what will Russia do? Maybe launch a full scale offensive into the Ukraine? We will be faced with a two front war then. Iran might join in as well and invade Saudi Arabia via Iraq which will probably be their ally. Yes, this situation will go nuclear quickly.

You are correct. I did not consider who will be leading it.

Ukraine? Well, its been a lost cause for a while now, unfortunately.

Saudi Arabia? That’s not as easy. The Saudis have a well-equipped military and has strong alliances with the rest of the GCC militaries as well as the U.K., France, Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan (I’m not even mentioning the U.S. here). Other than non-conventional weapons, Iran is at a disadvantage in every sense.

Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is “never get involved in a land war in Asia” - but only slightly less well-known is this: “Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!”

I think we need to listen to Vizzini on this one.
We could take China at sea, but we would find out, the hard way, if their Ballistic Anti-Ship Missile worked.
And we completely lose a land war against China.

War with China = Massive Free Trader necktie party.

Globalist free trader types better pick where and with whom their allegiance lies.

Who needs nukes when they’ve got almost 2 billion people? They can just overrun us. Or somewhere else first, and then us.

Numbers, not nukes. The mother of all weapons is the mother.

Will never happen. No one can fight a land war anymore across 3000 miles of ocean. We did in the middle east only because our technology was such that Iraq didn’t have the capability to know we were coming and to stop us once we got in their waters.

We cannot mass the amount of troops needed for a China invasion any more then they can invade the US. It would not go nuclear because even China recognizes MAD. The only way a war between the US and China is won is by the US producing its own energy and bringing back manufacturing capability where we can have a positive trade balance with the world. This will wipe out China as a world power.

The first and most important step in that task is to unshackle our industry. High corporate taxes and insane regulations (particularly of the environmental variety) severely stifle the business climate. The worst enemy of the American Businessman is the Washington Bureaucrat.

I wasn’t referring to an invasion at all. They don’t have to “invade” the US. Not by force.
