Don’t blame you one bit. After all those nice tropical Florida winters, Boston will be a very cold hell for you...again! You need to start being a snowbird! :) All the best people do it!
Yeah, there are too few answers, but guess they have to limit themselves. Gothic is a beautiful style though...very substantial. Are you really that moody, though? LOL!
*Groan*
Hi Beachie!
Sounds like you're having a busy summer/retirement!
Mucho heat out here on the left coast, just snugglin' up with my A/C lately.
I'm still enjoying hanging out with my boy a couple of days a week and would like to go out shooting this week but the outdoor range is too hot! Soon though.
A little shopping on my daily agenda and then relaxin'!
Have a grandocious day!
Snowbirding requires money. Of which I have none.
Well, you will do OK...we all know that. You know what to expect this year.
I hear ya on the money part. Retired people and those about to be totally relate. :)
I got a full tank of propane and Lynn-Dah to keep me warm! ;-)
Sounds like a plan!
“How ‘bout never getting dressed at all?”
Uh-oh! Definite signs of retiring already! ;-)
Please, do share the details!?
** snicker **
Jammies!
And, oh, YES, I’m looking forward to the day I will do that. I’m sure glad my boss isn’t a FReeper! LOL! She’s not to know till 2 weeks before.
Dear God, I'm so very scared. We're going to be homeless as of Sept. 8th.
I've applied for and been approved for disability. I will start receiving disability payments in late October. I didn't want to do it, but I had no other choice. I've paid in well over $200,000 in State and Federal Taxes, but I still feel like such a slug. I've always worked for what I have. That's why I am asking for your help.
We have no family or friends to whom we can turn. Yes, I'm disabled and any kind of work will be painful, but that hasn't stopped me for over ten years. I just need something that I can do from a wheel chair.
Prayers and help needed for this Canteener.....
If any of you live in the Tulsa, OK, area, I’m sure you can freepmail him for information and help that he needs so badly.
Just pinged a few of your close FRiends. :) (((hugs)))
Have you applied with the employment agencies? Are there programs there to help disabled people who desire work? Are there housing projects there for those who are in need? Have you asked at local churches or at the church owned university there? I know you’ve tried it all, no doubt.
All I can do right now is pray that you get the help you need...and I will knowing that God always listens to our pleas.
I've contacted every governmental an charitable organization in the area. They are so overburdened and backlogged that helping me will take 2 to 5 months to process. I gotta rely on me. I just need a job.
I wish I knew more about what jobs are available in the Tulsa area. I pray you hear from a freeper who does know.
If anything, it's Miami Googie.
If anything, it's BUTT UG-A-LEE!! LOL! Whew, that pic hurt the eyes.
Stunning sculpture! Lucky y'all to be surrounded by such beauty.
They are. My girlfriend has four of the bronzes and several of the seriagraphs. A couple of the seriagraphs, a matched pair, were appraised at over $50,000 for the pair. She made a good investment when she bought them. The bronze sculptures run from $10,000 - $15,000 each. . . And being limited in availability are going up.
I collect a little more humorous seriagraphs. . . One's created by Disney cartoonist Carl Barks. Barks was the creator of Scrooge McDuck. HEHEHEHE. Now there's my hero, an unrepentant capitalist! I just won an auction for two Carl Barks books, a signed first edition The Art of the Comic Book and a very limited edition Carl Barks Treasury in a bank vault box, one of only 1000 printed, also signed by Carl Barks. I bid on what I thought was a single print and when it arrived, I found FIVE more original quality Disney prints included, attached to the back, that had not been mentioned in the auction. Included with the vintage Scrooge McDuck scene I bid on, we're a vintage Donald Duck, a really rare Goofy, a rare Three Little Pigs with the Big, Bad Wolf, and an early Mickey Mouse! My cup runner runneth over even though none of those extras are Carl Barks work. I got them all for a single $30 bid. Nobody bid against me. WHEEE!
Did you hear the thuds as I fell outta my chair? LOL!
First thud was seeing the values of the Erté’s. Something an ol’ farm gal can only dream about. I always wished I could come up with some grand idea that would make many $$ so I could have a few very nice items and such. An unrepenting capitalist, I could easily be ...... IF only. :-)
The second thud was your STEAL on the Carl Barks prints. How many rabbit feet and shamrocks do you keep on hand to have luck like that? LOL! Very cool that you got all the extras that they apparently didn’t realize were there.
BTTT
Good morning Pro ((HUGS))
Glad you enjoyed my pun. hehe
So, your having the heat as well. I think we will be cooling off next week. We had another thunder-boomer roll in last night. Had to comfort our older dog and didn’t get to sleep until 10ish, which isn’t bad if one can sleep past 4-4:30!
My retirement has been busy. I’ve forced myself to take time off and get to the pool this summer. But it’s also been limiting my time at the Canteen as well.
Next week, schools start and one of my granddaughters will be going to school across the street from us, so her mom will drop her off in the mornings and she’ll ride the bus home in the afternoon. I’m going to enjoy it as rumor has it her mother plans on moving them to Virginia next year. Sniff!
I’m heading out in a few minutes to hit Walmart for some shopping of my own.
You may show up after I’m gone...soooooo......have a thankfully, terrifically Thursday.
