BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A woman survived a near-drowning in Louisiana floodwater thanks to some men on a boat who arrived at the perfect time, and it was captured on a dramatic video.
The woman's convertible was about two-thirds submerged and she can be heard asking for help.
"Oh my God, I'm drowning," the woman can be heard saying from inside the car.
Three men pull up in a boat and try to break a window on the car to free the woman, but they aren't successful.
The car keeps sinking and one of the men jumps out of the boat onto the car and starts to tear through the convertible's fabric roof.
It's only after the car is fully submerged that the woman is pulled to safety.
Immediately she tells the man who saved her to get her dog, which was also in the car. He reaches inside and tries to find the dog but can't and says he thinks the dog is gone.
"No, she better not be," the woman said.
The dog then pops up out of the water in the man's arms and the people back on the boat gasp in relief.
All three then swim to the safety of the boat.

Floodwaters rise quickly but not that quickly.
If you are caught in 6 ft of water you most likely did something to get in that fix.
True, but quite a few people got stranded along I-12 during these rains. The water came up quickly enough to trap motorists on “islands”, cut off in both directions.

I ran a heavy mail route down south that ended in a lil one gas station, church, PO. The gas station had 30’x6’tall coolers stuffed full of cases of beer. This video explains where it all goes.

They edited out the part where the woman pops up and then immediately shoves the guys head underwater telling him to go get her dog.
Yep, one of the things that men are so good at. God bless them.

Insist car makers have ONE WINDOW in every car with an old fashioned ‘crank’... a way to manually roll down a window. Drivers side would be best...
People die in Florida every year because they’re trapped in cars with windows that won’t crank down.
Sure looked like it to me. The video I saw first was broadcast earlier Sunday afternoon EST.
