Think the kid became air born coming out of that 1st dip and may have hit the net thing.Maybe he wasn’t properly secured in the raft ??

Apparently nothing obvious happened mechanically, or wouldn’t others be reporting it? There isn’t enough water to have drowned on the ride itself.
This is just the type of ride that could incite unknown physical conditions. Heart, or brain, or even impact.

Hope this isn't the fact but I wonder if they lied about his age to get him on it.
The slide goes down, then up over a crest and back down again. He went airborne at the crest, and into the edge of a protective net that covers the down-sloping sections. I guess the net must have stoped him “cold,” and the sudden decelleration either broke his neck or caused massive internal injuries.

The kid might have been less than 54 inches and he is a politician’s son! If the kid was too small for the ride and his dad let him on then it looks bad for the politician...it also looks bad for the water park! That’s why the info is being held back. What is the party of the politician?
Yes, they apparently snuck him in below age and height requirements. Fault likely all around on this.
