Evan McMullin, a former CIA counterterrorism operative, will run for president as a third-party conservative alternative to Donald Trump, the group backing the candidate told ABC News today.
The group, Better for America, has been working for months on trying to select a candidate and get on ballots throughout the country. In some states, like Texas, they will likely have to sue to get on the ballot. It's an extreme uphill climb, but they are confident McMullin, 40, can act as a disruptor who they hope can peel off some red states in a race where some Republicans are still resistant to Donald Trump.
McMullins candidacy, backed by some Republicans, shows how the Never Trump movement is still working to upend Trump even with less than three months left until the general election. McMullin may be a long shot, but will have a legitimate organization behind him.

Good luck with that
Because...they want hillary?
These mother #####ers are really pressing their luck.
I see a Bastille Day in their future.
Who?
Ex CIA spook? No thanks.
I know several ####s who would vote for him because Trump isn’t a “True” conservative.
It’s sickening to hear. I find it hard to still converse with them.
Way too late to get on ballots
One of GHWB's spooks?
It gets better ... Goldman Sachs alum!
“Once he left the CIA in 2011, McMullin went to work for Goldman Sachs in the San Francisco Bay Area and in 2013 became a senior adviser on national security issues for the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and later the chief policy director of the House Republican Conference.”
Never mind, too young for that era of the CIA. But probably served under W.
He’s going to sue 50 states for ballot access? He’ll have to mount a write-in campaign — it’s all he’s got.
party like it’s 1789!
From what I’m seeing on Twitter, the ultimate objective is to help Hillary win Utah and Nevada. Apparently he’s a Mormon.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Evan McMullin (born April 2, 1976) is the Chief Policy Director for the House Republican Conference in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Early Life and Education[edit]
McMullin was born in Provo, Utah, to David McMullin, a computer scientist, and Lanie (Bullard) McMullin. Lanie McMullin currently serves as a local government official in Everett, Wash.
He graduated from Auburn High School in Auburn, Washington, has a Bachelors degree in International Law and Diplomacy from Brigham Young University (BYU) and a Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.[1]
Career[edit]
Volunteer Refugee Resettlement Officer[edit]
After graduating from BYU in 2001, McMullin worked as a Volunteer Refugee Resettlement Officer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.[2]
CIA Clandestine Division[edit]
Shortly before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, he began training with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He then served for eight years as an undercover operations officer with the National Clandestine Service. His assignments included multiple tours of duty in conflict zones in the Middle East, Northern Africa and South Asia. In 2009, he took a leave of absence to attend the Wharton School, ultimately resigning from the agency in 2010 after a decade of distinguished service.[3]
Investment banking[edit]
In 2011, McMullin transitioned to the investment banking sector at Goldman Sachs in the San Francisco Bay Area, raising capital, as well as working on mergers and acquisitions across several industries, including technology, energy, consumer goods, biotech, industrials and real estate.
Political service[edit]
House Committee on Foreign Affairs[edit]
In 2013, McMullin became a senior adviser on national security issues for the House Committee on Foreign Affairs for the 113th Congress.
House Republican Conference[edit]
McMullin became the chief policy director of the House Republican Conference in 2015 under Chairwoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers (R-Wash.).[4]
Public speaking[edit]
In March 2016, McMullin spoke at a TEDx talk at the London Business School. He observed that the free world continues to allow genocide and other mass atrocities to occur despite repeatedly vowing Never Again, and what can individuals and companies do about it.
The reality is that most administrations and governments in the United States, Europe, and really everywhere in the world have failed to respond in a timely matter to atrocities, if theyve responded at all, he said, noting that generating political competition through grassroots activism and social media is the way to motivate leaders.
The Save Darfur coalition required a multimillion-dollar budget to raise awareness, but in todays modern era with more connection through social media and otherwise, we are more empowered now than we have ever been to make a difference, he said.[5]
At a speech to the University of Pennsylvania alumni association in Washington DC in May of 2016, McMullin observed that despite tremendous expenditure on anti-poverty programs the poverty rate today, in America, is still about the same that it was in the mid 1960s due to the incompetence of the federal government. Instead of helping people out of poverty, the government has merely created a safety net to make poverty more tolerable.[6]
Board memberships[edit]
Starting in 2013, McMullin was an International Advisory Board Member for the Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University. [7]
Starting in 2011, McMullin was a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Since there is already the Libertarian Party and Green Party candidates, doesn’t that make him the “fifth” party candidate, not the “third party”?
There's a fine testimony to their character.
Rick Wilson was in DC yesterday meeting with this joker Evans:
Apparently the plan is to send Mormon-heavy states (Utah, of course) over to Hillary, or at least put them in play

U.S. States With Most Mormons

Exemplifies everything that is rotten with politics and wrong with the GOP.
So thats Evans political strategist? Rick Wilson? Wow.
Evans has some very pro-Muslim quotes, maybe he was converted during all that time in the M.E. Kinda like a certain agency boss. Workin on it
Especially since the time to have your name put on a ballot in some states has already passed, and, on Friday, the rest close up. It simply cannot be done.
Research while you can, use engines other than Gurgle.

They admit hes not in it to win (then why run?) but to peel off enough R votes to give the election to Hillary.
Ive never even met the guy and he turns my stomach. You wanna run for government Evan? Pick a race you can win. Spoilers are nothing but p!ssing in the soup.
