A senior Syrian priest accused Western countries of abandoning their principles and allowing Islamist extremists to massacre Christians in the Middle East because they are blinded by their lust for oil, according to the Christian media outlet Crossmap.
Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan of the Syriac Catholic Church of Antioch made the remarks to a meeting of the Knights of Columbus in Toronto.
"We have to understand that totalitarianism based on Islamic creed is the worst among all systems of government. Yes, my friends, the very survival of Christians in the cradle of Christianity is quite in danger," the patriarch said.

But I think he is wrong about oil.
The Obama administration is strongly anti-Christian and pro-Muslim.
They want to see Christians murdered.
I think he’s right from a continued recent history perspective. The indigenous Christian’s safety HAS subsumed by the West’s desire for oil. However, it is only when Obama the Muslim came to be President is when that abandonment became totally religious (if you want to consider the insane cult of Islam a religion.)

It’s not about oil. The west is post-Christian. They will abandon Christians outside the west first and they will abandon Christians inside the west next.
Then, they will permit persecution of bible-believing Christians inside the west. Then, they will create a “New Christianity” that looks a lot like Existentialism, but people won’t care because it is “pure love” (and baby killing).
The Euroweenies abandoned Christianity themselves, and are selling out ME Christians for oil and natural gas.
Obama is selling them out ‘cause he hates them.
The fact is these Christians have been surrounded by Muslims for over a millenium and they knew the Muslims were just biding their time before finishing them off.
If they wanted to live, they had every opportunity leave long ago. They chose to stay. The rest of the world is not beholden to save them from their own choices.

And the majority of those who voted in 2008 and 2012 support islam and hate Christianity. Why else would they demand, via their votes, that a muslim have the rule over them?
