Hillary Clinton has widened her lead over Donald Trump in a pair of new national polls published on Thursday, as the Republican nominee ends one of the worst weeks of his campaign.
Clinton opened up a 15-point margin in the McClatchy-Marist survey, 48% to 33%, which was conducted as Trump feuded publicly first with the Muslim parents of a slain American war hero and then House Speaker Paul Ryan, one of the GOP's most popular and powerful figures. Last month, Clinton held a narrow 3-point advantage, 42%-39% in a McClatchy-Marist poll. In an NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll, Clinton's edge is 9 points (47% to 38%), cushioning what was a 5-point advantage in early July. A CNN/ORC poll this week showed Clinton with a similar 9-point edge over Trump nationally.

I too am very worried (and a little stressed). In 2012, there the same reassurance about skewed polls. But at the end the polls were correct.

As we should all be. The last election told us that one of two things were evident. Either the country has moved harshly left or election fraud is so sophisticated that it is very hard to detect. Neither one of those scenarios can be corrected at the ballot box.

A couple of weeks ago, another Freeper said that we need to treat this election as though we are down by a touchdown with 5 minutes left in the game. I thought that was very good advice.We should take nothing for granted, and need to fight for every single vote right up until the polls close on election day. I’m not surprised to see the polls showing Hillary ahead right now. Don’t dismiss them as “biased” polls and say there’s nothing to worry about. When the polls swing back the other way and show Trump ahead, don’t sit back and assume Trump will win by a landslide. When you see Hillary with a goofy look on her face, don’t buy into the talk that she had a seizure and will be dropping out of the race for health reasons. If that’s what you’re pinning your hopes on, we’re done. A lot of people here said she would drop out before the Democrat convention. Well, guess what? The convention has come and gone, and Hillary’s still in the race. She didn’t get indicted, she’s not dropping out because of her health, and Joe Biden isn’t coming in as a last minute replacement. Hillary is in the race to stay. We have to fight the Democrats every step of the way until this thing is over.
