As usual....FOLLOW the MONEY!!! Of course. The dismantling of stored aircraft does nothing to free up funding for anything else - it's to ensure that once the change takes place it is permanent. No reconsidering and backtracking to the more capable CAS aircraft will be allowed, there's too much money tied up in the support of the F-35.
