Not if he’s President.

If Hillary is elected, then it will be up to ever pays her more money under the table.

Too funny. On the one hand they say Trump and Putin are planning the next world order. On the other they are saying Trump is clueless about what Putin is doing.

I still think the best solution is to split Ukraine, there are relatively much fewer Russians in the Western part of the country.

Of course. Among his other abilities, Trump is the reincarnation of the Oracle of Delphi, but in male form. :)

The real story is the defense industry and their neocon tools who NEED a lot of strife and a massive arms race build up in Eastern Europe.
Tanks, rockets, jets, all kinds of surveillance equipment....everything!!

If Trump isn’t hot to fan the flames of the new cold war, then what will happen to Lockheed Martin stock, General Dynamics stock, Boeing Stock?

Obama backed the overthrow of democratically elected government in Ukraine BY A MILITARY JUNTA!! Do people not know that? Russia had a warm water port and moved to seal off any attempt to cut them off from their port! Why do we not honor ELECTIONS?? Where people actually VOTE for the government they actually want. WE DID THIS WITH EGYPT!!also. Who the hell are we to militarily overthrow two duly and legally elected government WITH MILITARY FORCE? We don’t need to be telling Putin what to do, that is for damned sure.

My ex-husband is living there now and he’s telling me that he is 100 miles away from Russian troops and he’s pretty far west.

Trump meant Russia is not taking over the nation of Ukraine. Look at a map and understand the size of the nation. It would take a WW II type of invasion. No one has that force structure at this point in time.

Russia could take over the Ukraine anytime they felt like it. The country is very flat and poorly defended. The reason they haven’t is the country is not worth owning. This isn’t the soviet Union where they exploit nations with slave labor thus owning the Ukraine would be a massive drain on Russia. The only reasons Russia has been interfering in the Ukraine is A. to protect their navel base, B. Protect Russians from Ukrainian Nazis in the east, and C. keep the Ukraine out NATO. The last they want is NATO holding a dagger to the Russian heartland.

Russia is not going to invade the Ukraine further. Trump is right. Russia wanted the Crimea back (90% Russian population) as it is where a huge chunk of the Russian navy fleet is stationed. They weren’t going to let it fall under the control of the new Ukranian pro West regime. It was in Russia’s vested interest to get their traditional warm water port city and gateway to the Black Sea, back. They have gotten what they want and like Trump, I believe that is as far as Russia plans on going in the Ukraine.

“Who would want to?”
Right. Who would want to try to govern an economic and political basket case like Ukraine? Even the European Union doesn’t want them - with all the corruption, bankruptcy, etc.

Right. NATO is big business. Not only for the military equipment manufacturers, but for think tanks, research facilities, commercial facilities to support the bases, etc.

Good for the economies of Poland, Lithuania, etc.

One possibility would be the Dnieper River.

The big problem is that would essentially divide Kiev.

The old border between Poland and the USSR was the river Zbrucz.

NATO was founded to stop Communism from taking over the world, not to defend former Soviet republics from a non-Communist, nationalist Russia. In any case Putin’s barely been able to take 10% of Ukraine at the cost of being bogged down in a proxy war there. Ukraine has a large population and their own arms industry including tanks and jet aircraft. Americans never agreed to fight for Estonia and Ukraine. As for the original NATO countries, they refuse to do their share while surrendering their countries to Muslim hordes. NATO needs to either be reorganized and given realistic goals with members pulling their fair share, or disbanded in favor alliances with countries that take their own defense seriously.
