I’m actually surprised they didn’t give this officer a death sentence.
I’m surprised that the black city leaders and white apologists didn’t try to have her executed.
But there would have been no issue concerning a Pride flag (I know I am being Captain Obvious on that point, but still).
Unless this is part of the officer’s contract, it is a clear violation of the 1st Amendment. She could have flown an ISIS or Nazi flag and been just as much within her rights, even if she ticked off somebody or everybody.
Lawsuit coming, and she should win.

How about a Mexican flag or ISIS?

But, bring out a confederate flag, and it means everything to them. The confederate flag is no longer an ordained symbol of the south, it’s a history piece, it’s a salute to the people who died defending the south from northern aggression.
Ifs it’s just a piece “of cloth”, how can it stand for anything, if the American flag doesn’t?
Secondly, what this officer does in his personal time and space, is no ones business. Will they fire any cop found to support “black lives matter”? How about a Mexican flag, an ISIS flag, or your 3rd graders class flag? Are those “firing offenses”?
This movement is trying to rebuild our country into one similar to Islam...either you support blacks, join blacks, give all to blacks, or, you go down.
If she’d flown an LGBT flag, Mexican or Palestinian flag, or an ISIS flag, she’d have been okay, and might have even gotten a promotion. Back in 1996, a NY State Correctional Officer was suspended for flying the Nazi flag on his front porch. He had been an officer for 18 years. An arbitration hearing found in his favor, and it was ordered that he be reinstated. Prior to the hearing, both parties agreed that the arbitration procedure would be final and binding, but of course the State reneged on the agreement, and appealed the decision to two lower courts which they lost. In 1999, the appeals court ordered that the officer be reinstated to his job. Spitzer was State Attorney General at the time. I was familiar with the case as I was working as a Sergeant at the time in another facility. It was so good to hear that Spitzer and NY State took it in the shorts on this case.
