Obama Administration Releases Latest Executive Gun Control
NRA-ILA ^ | 7/27/2016 | NRA-ILA

On Friday, July 22, just as members of his party were gathering in Philadelphia to coronate Hillary Clinton as their presidential nominee, the Obama Administration once again released a sweeping gun control measure by executive fiat. This time the bad news came via the U.S. State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), which is primarily responsible for administering the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and its implementing rules, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The upshot is that DDTC is labeling commercial gunsmiths as “manufacturers” for performing relatively simple work such as threading a barrel or fabricating a small custom part for an older firearm. Under the AECA, “manufacturers” are required to register with DDTC at significant expense or risk onerous criminal penalties.

Seems you now need to register with ITAR ($2,250) and try to comply with regulatory requirements for even making the simplest of gun parts?

Yeah, but I guess they didn’t ‘intend’ to. For us peeons its $1,000,000 fine and 20 years foreach infraction! Talk about legislation without representation! And no comment period either is needed I guess.

It’s time for Constitutional correction. These NWO bozos have no idea of the rage that is building up in this nation. Trump is the peaceful solution to this problem or there is the alternative.

fortunately any Obama “exec order” can be cancelled by a new president

DAMMMM how USA has elected an enemy agent twice in a row....
its as if our country has suddenly decided to commit suicide?

don’t people even care about (if they have any?) their children anymore?

maybe its something in the water (or fast food burgers, or?)

That’s the thing...its not an EO. Just a redefinition of the term “manufacturer” by the State Department and their bureaucracy! It applies even if you only make one performance mod, or one gun part. AND export is irrelevant.

Executive orders only have jurisprudence and effect upon employees working for the federal government. The executive branch only controls the daily internal kinetics of the federal government.

Any civilian arrested under this can take order can take it to court and demand to be charged under existing LAW, of which any executive or is not a part of. The judge must throw the case out if there is no written and signed law that has been broken.

The power of this move comes with the intimidation and lawyer fees needed to defend yourself to pry behaviors is a direction.

There are two cases where EOs are operative: 1) for all executive branch employees in execution of their duties, and 2) when it enforces/interprets an existing law or statute enacted by Congress. Most of Obama’s EOs are the prior. This one seems to be an administrative ruling, however.

In either case, their effect and power can be nullified by a succeeding President.
