PITTSBURGH —Pittsburgh Police Chief Cameron McLay said he focused his message on policing and community relations during his address to the Democratic National Convention. McLay responded to criticisms of his appearance raised by some rank-and-file officers and spread via social media.

"There was no endorsing of any candidate, there was no endorsing of any particular objective. I'm simply getting the truth that needs to be said about what meaningful police reform needs to look like in this country out on a much broader scale," McLay told reporters during an informal question-and-answer session following his return to Pittsburgh from his convention visit in Philadelphia.

Chief, half the creeps in that arena cheer when cops get shot in the back and the rest do their best to free the thugs that did it. And the candidate standing next to you dances in their blood to advance gun control. What the hell are you doing there, delivering a traffic safety lecture?

...........cynical, pee on your leg, in your face, democratic politics that risk more cops being shot by some sick person mis-interpreting that big city chief being on that Democratic stage.

All that’s needed now, and for the foreseeable future, is affirmation by all leaders of any party or stripe that cops are the glue that holds it all together and that we should support them up until the point that “evidence” is over-whelmingly to the contrary.

The Chief appears at the most explicitly partisan event there is at the behest of a partisan tool of a senator and with the blessing of a leftist mayor who is about one centimeter to the right of DeBlasio.

Not political at all. No siree. I agree with Pat Caddell. They don’t take us for fools. They take us for cowards. They know that we know. They also know that we won’t do anything about it. McLay is auditioning for a role in the HRC administration. His brass balls are polished to a gleam.

So the Pittsburgh chief before McLay is in a federal prison
for embezzling police funds? Guess he was a Stealer of a
different sort.

Don’t worry, as the ‘rank and file’ criticized this horse’s ass, you can bet that the police will say one thing if put on the spot but be voting Trump overwhelmingly.

Not the police in my neck of the woods. Where'd you find the statistics that say most want restrictions on the 2nd? I'd like to see it broken out regionally. (Just a regular URL to point me in the right direction will do - I can dig deeper for the info I'm interested in).
